Beyond millennials, Janet has generation z appeal. Especially during her John McClain/A&M years with Control & RN1814. Her brand during that time has aged the best of ALL of her contemporaries. The only thing that stops her from crossing over is a HUGE lack of material. I'm glad there's a thread on this because it sucks to see two of the best era's in pop history paid complete dust. :l

Does anyone know where I can purchase/stream/bootleg this? It was available on vimeo but for some reason that was removed. Janetmedia has a trailer for it on their youtube channel but the download link is dead. All I can find is Janet Jackson: Rhythm Nation compilation but I don't think that's the same thing.
Please someone help me! I want to watch this so badly.

Post pone, deffer, delay. Whatever. My point still stands. She's been evading the release of these concerts for an ETERNITY. It's cruel of her to continual make promises that she can't keep. Especially for such a long time.
If she thinks a dvd/digital release isn't worth the investment, like you suggested earlier in this thread, I wonder why she doesn't simply upload the songs onto her youtube channel? Or official website. A lot less hassle.

Yeah, I wouldn't rush to judgement based off 1 call -- if we get more calls/explanations saying the same, I'd be very upset.
I honestly don't get what the TM person means by that. Why would she do that? Or even allegedly do that.

dude from customer service chuckled when I told him I was calling about getting a refund because Janet Jackson publically announced she was delaying her tour dates..
He already knew the situation, he said he's been getting call after call about people wanting their money back for their Janet tickets.. He sounded really agitated too (not with me, but with the whole situation)..
dude said that what Janet is trying to do is what Lil Wayne did recently on one of his tours.. He said Wayne went on his Twitter and announced that he was done with his tour, mid-tour, and that he wasn't going to do anymore shows.. The problem with that is Wayne never told any of his promoters he was quitting and he was still legally contracted to fulfill these shows, and thusly ended up still doing a lot of the shows he said he wasn't going to (after negotiations to drop some shows)..
the TM guy said this is exactly what Janet is trying to do.. In fact, he said to me verbatim: "she's trying to force these cancellations" ?
He went on to explain that normally, artists who are contracted with their promoters to do these shows do not announce that their bowing out until after signing the agreement with their promoters, production company and ticket distributors that the cancellation/postponement may occur..
he said she's doing this ass-backwards and that her video announcing the delay was the first, and so far only, steps she has taken to reschedule/cancel any of her remaining dates, and that she is making it look really bad for her in regards to any possible future endeavors/tours.. Especially since she has cancelled so many shows already..
you guys.. I don't knoow.. It's legitimately possible that the TM dude was just fed-up dealing wih Janet fans asking for refunds and that he was just spewing his own feelings.. But he wasn't saying to me it like all that was his opinions, he said these are the things that he and his co-workers are being told by their higher-ups...
take all this info anyway ya want to... But I can't say any it is hard to believe..
What does that mean, she's trying to force cancellations? That's so shady.

they probably informed her that the US leg would be pulled like Europe thus this announcement. Kathy Ireland is talking about keep your tickets. They can't even get their stories together. I'm actually glad the era is over. I think this is what Janet and particularly Wissam wanted.

I don't understand why live nation would insure her if she was planning a pregnancy all along. Whether it be an adoption, surrogate or natrual. Wouldn't she have to inform them ahead of time? Kinda fishy...

MJs fandom is starting a change.org petition (link) to get his stuff: music videos, award show performances, concerts, etc released on dvd in 1080p & blue-ray. It gave me the idea that, maybe we should try the same for Janet? Her legacy deserves to be preserved in HQ.
It worked for the Mac+Selena makeup collection, and that was major corporation! I'm thinking that if we can prove there's solid interest it'll nudge her and her team into being more active.
What do you guys think? I'll be honest, i'm not sure exactly where to start with this but it's worth a try.

Feedback. It was really creative and the concept was a lot of fun to watch. The CGI or whatever it was still holds up today.
(That black outfit with the ponytail also should've been her RWU tour outfit but I digress.)

I feel what REALLY hurt this era is poor planning. i don't think there was a marketing strategy in place at all. Does anyone know who's managing her? If she's doing everything herself that would at least explain it.
there was a lot of good will in the beginning especially with the rise of feminism in the digital era. calls for her to be apologized to are an ANNUAL occurrence and that definitely added up imo. the 30th anniversary of control (an empowerment record) was the perfect springboard for the new album release, but it was squandered.
i truly believe that if they had amped up the amount of content janet was putting out prior to the release (getting her old live performances up on youtube in hq, releasing a control 30 anniversary +documentary) that this era could've been a great success commercially. rejuvenating and cementing her status.
unbreakable could still be saved but it's obvious there's no motivation.

TBH if Janet wants to do right by this mess of an era, she needs to do a whole digital revitalization.
How are you one of the biggest visual artists of all time but don't have most of your videos in HQ on the internet to view?
She should update her youtube/vevo with all of her videos in HD quality.
Choose a streaming service (tidal, apple, etc) and upload all of her singles, b-sides, and remixes.
Release the janet. tour
and sit her ass in the middle east and let the coins collect.
I'm thinking there might be an issue with her old label, hence the two verified youtube channels. Having your videos all over the place is really a hindrance (see: madge).
