  1. Rihanna To Shoot 'You Da One' Video In London10th November 2011, 16:55

The 'We Found Love' star's manager speaks about the video for her next single.

Rihanna will shoot the video for her next single 'You Da One' in London.

The singer's manager told journalists at a preview for RiRi's new album 'Talk That Talk' that they were hoping to film the video before the end of the year.

Joking about the "melee" Rihanna caused when she shot the video for 'We Found Love' in Belfast, Jay Brown said they were hoping to do the same in London.

'You Da One' will be the singer's second single taken from her new record 'Talk That Talk', which is released on 21st November.

The album includes the star's currently Calvin Harris-produced single 'We Found Love'.

Meanwhile, Rihanna's Roc Nation manager also told Capital FM during the album preview that the star was set to shoot another movie in 2012.

  2. Rihanna reunites with Jay-Z on ‘Talk That Talk’…

Over the weekend, Rihanna tweeted that her new album ‘Talk That Talk’ had one more guest feature. As of today, that mystery collaboration has been unveiled as none other than the singer’s Roc Nation boss/mentor Jay-Z. Producer Stargate spilled the beans to a Norwegian website. The explosive duo collaborate on the title track which, under translation, is said to be a mid-tempo banger with hard drums and dirty synths.Rihanna and her mentor have appeared on each others records on a consistent basis. Therefore, it comes as no surprise that that they have reunited again despite the rapper not appearing on her last two albums. Who would YOU have preferred?

  3. RIHANNA BECOMES FASTEST SOLO ARTIST TO 20 HOT 100 TOP 10'S

Rihanna roars to a 20th Billboard Hot 100 top 10 single faster than any other solo artist, as “We Found Love,” featuring Calvin Harris, darts 16-9 in its second chart week.

Having first graced the Hot 100 the week of June 11, 2005, with the eventual No. 2-peaking “Pon De Replay,” Rihanna reaches 20 top 10s in a span of just six years and four months, besting Madonna for the quickest collection of top 10s among soloists (from an artist’s first Hot 100 appearance) in the chart’s 53-year history. Madonna tallied her 20th top 10, “Hanky Panky,” the week of July 28, 1990, for a stretch of six years and nine months after her chart introduction with “Holiday.” Rihanna, thus, bests Madonna’s mark by five months.

Among all acts, Rihanna’s run to 20 top 10s is the second-fastest. Only the Beatles sprinted to the sum more quickly, taking just two years, seven months and one week between their chart entrance with “I Want to Hold Your Hand” (Jan. 18, 1964) and “Yellow Submarine,” which sailed 52-8 the week of Aug. 27, 1966. The Supremes are pushed to third-place among all artists, having collected their 20 career top 10s in a span of six years, five months and one week in 1964-70.

With the vault, Rihanna becomes the 14th artist to garner as many as 20 Hot 100 top 10s and just the fifth woman to earn the honor. Among women, Madonna leads with 37 top 10s – the highest total among all artists – followed by Mariah Carey and Janet Jackson (27 each) and Whitney Houston (23).

Prior to Rihanna this week, Carey had been the last artist to reach 20 top 10s when “Thank God I Found You,” featuring Joe and 98 Degrees, blasted 22-2 on the Feb. 12, 2000, chart (a week before it led the Hot 100 for one frame).

Notably, in an era where songs can scale the Hot 100′s upper reaches in their debut week solely on the strength of hefty first-week digital sales, all 20 of Rihanna’s top 10s have received radio support concurrent with their moves into the Hot 100′s top 10. Seventeen of the 20, in fact, have reached the top 10 on Radio Songs, with eight bounding all the way to No. 1. And, even the three songs that missed the Radio Songs top 10 still made the list’s top 40 (“Break It Off,” No. 11; “Russian Roulette,” No. 35; and, “Cheers (Drink to That),” No. 13).

“We Found Love” jumps into the Hot 100′s top 10 with dual Digital and Airplay Gainer accolades. The first single from Rihanna’s sixth studio album, due Nov. 21, charges 7-6 on Digital Songs (147,000 downloads sold, up 25%, according to Nielsen SoundScan) and 75-38 on Radio Songs (33 million audience impressions, up 129%, according to Nielsen BDS).

All charts, including the Hot 100, Digital Songs and Radio Songs, will be refreshed tomorrow (Oct. 6) on Billboard.com.

    Here is a recap of Rihanna’s 20 Billboard Hot 100 top 10s:

  4. Global Chart Report

Arashi storms on the hot seat of the album chart

    Friday, July 15, 2011

    by Fred Chuchel, Dresden

As usual the japanese boy band Arashi gets hugh sales, also the new effort 'Beautiful World', which moved 631.000 copies in its initial week, according to Oricon. That's more than enough for a no.1 entry

on the global album chart this week. Arashi's former set 'Boku No Miteiru Fukei' went also easily at no.1 with sales of 731.000 units in the week 33, 2010. Beside 'Beautiful World' there's just another debut, US-rapper Lloyd goes at no.28 with 27.000 sales. The current tally has the fewest number of debuts since the week 2, 2011, when only one album was new on the list. Last week's chart-topper, Beyoncé's '4', slides one slot at no.2 after a 55% decline to sales of 232.000 copies. Adele's '21' slips at no.3 with a minor 0,5% deficit to 221.000 copies, a total of 7,72 million after 24 weeks on the tally. Lady GaGa's 'Born This Way' leaves the top 3 and ranks at no.4 now, down 23% to 154.000 sales and a total of 3,53 million after 7 weeks. Her former smash 'The Fame (Monster)' is now exactly two and a half years on the list (130 weeks!!) and climbs back at no.20 with 32.000 copies, a total of 12,95 million so far. Because of the few new additions, there are 6 re-entries this week: Il Divo's self-titled album turns back at no.26 (28.000 sales), Caro Emerald's 'Deleted Scenes From The Cutting Room' at no.29 (26.000 sales), Foster The People's 'Torches' at no.33 (24.000 sales), Britney Spears' 'Femme Fatale' at no.34 (23.000 sales), Sadé's 'Ultimate Collection' at no.38 (22.000 sales) and Justin Bieber's 'My Worlds' at no.39 (22.000 sales). COMPLETE GLOBAL ALBUM CHART

  6. Global Chart Report

Beyoncé is new leader of the global album chart

    Friday, July 8, 2011

    by Fred Chuchel, Dresden

No surprise, Beyoncé's new effort, simply titled as '4', starts easily

on the top spot of our global album chart this week after first-week sales of 511.000 copies. Her last album 'I Am... Sasha Fierce',

which includes 3 huge single-smashes, 'If I Were A Boy', 'Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)' and 'Halo' sold 591.000 copies in its first full week at retail and was also a global no.1 (week 49, 2008). Adele's '21' leaves the no.1 spot for a fourth time and moved another 222.000 copies, an 8% decline compared to the previous week. Lady GaGa's 'Born This Way' slides also one slot down at no.3 after a 10% decrease to 199.000 sales. Beyoncé's '4' leads 11 new-entries on this week's tally: 19-year old Disney starlet Selena Gomez opens at no.4 with her new set 'When The Sun Goes Down' (101.000 sales) and american rapper Sean Michael Anderson, better known as Big Sean, follows at no.5 with 'Finally Famous' (89.000 sales). The legendary Nu-Metal hereos of Limp Bizkit celebrate a little comeback with her new album 'Gold Cobra', which bows at no.6 with 85.000 copies. Of course, that's far away from their best years, when 'Significant Other', Limp Bizkit's most successful album and a classic of the Nu-Metal era, moved more than 800.000 units in a single week. Back to this week's hitlist, there's the japanese rock / jazz act Tokyo Jihen new at no.7 with 'Daihakken' (82.000 sales). Outside the top 10 debuting David Cook's 'This Loud Morning' at no.17 (48.000 sales), Scotty McCreery's 'American Idol Season 10 Highlights' at no.21 (42.000 sales), Dreams Come True's 'The Soul For The People' at no.24 (38.000 sales), Gillian Welch's 'The Harrow & The Harvest' at no.27 (35.000 sales), Taking Back Sunday's self-titled album at no.30 (32.000 sales) and the tribute set 'Rave On Buddy Holly' at no.33 (30.000 sales).

  7. GAGA FLIRTS WITH A MILLION

Huge Digital Blow-Out, Non-Trad Retail Leads to First-Week Sales of 900-950k

    May 25, 2011

She was “Born” to sell downloads. With a massive rollout orchestrated by Interscope’s Steve Berman and manager Troy Carter, Lady Gaga’s Born This Way will debut at #1 next week with the year’s biggest sales total, between 900-950k. That would be the largest debut since Taylor Swift’s Speak Now scored 1.04 million last October.

In a watershed moment for the business, as much as 500k of that total will be digital, thanks in large part to Amazon’s price-busting 99 cent sale on Monday. Estimates are that Gaga’s album broke Coldplay’s previous one-week digital record of 288k on the first day, with an estimated 400k being sold across all digital formats in the first 24 hours. It’s clear the strategy of saturating non-traditional retail worked wonders.

Arista Nashville superstar Brad Paisley’s This Is Country Music, the 10th album since bursting onto the scene in 1999, is on target for an opening week of 145-155k.

Columbia’s Glee Cast Volume 6 will debut with between 80-85k, while Warner Bros.’ Maybach Music Group Presents: Self Made, Vol. 1, the Rick Ross-founded label previously with Def Jam, will do in the 50-55k range.

Columbia/Jive/Legacy’s NKOTBSB, the joining of New Kids and Backstreet Boys, should do 35-40k on the heels of their blockbuster tour.

Finally, Startime Intl./Columbia’s Foster the People, SoCal’s answer to MGMT, debut with Torches, which is in the 25-30k range, fueled by the alternative hit, “Pumped Up Kicks.”

The market was down 5% vs. last week, up 2% vs. same week last year and still down 1% year to date, with Gaga ensuring the business will climb into the black for the first time in memory. Can upcoming releases like Beyonce, Lady Antebellum, Lil Wayne, Jackie Evancho and the elusive Dr. Dre help sustain the momentum when the biz goes up against last year’s first weeks from Drake and Eminem?

  9. Usher talks about Rihanna and possible collaboration

Usher wants to do a duet with Rihanna. The ‘OMG’ singer said he has been close to the ‘Only Girl (In The World)’ hitmaker for some time and would love for them to make a track together.

He told UK TV’s ‘Loose Women’ program:

‘Of course I’d do a track with her – hold on! We’ve been friends and our teams work together and we’ve talked about working together in the past, but it could potentially happen. ‘I would love to work with her – I think she’s an incredible artist.’

Rihanna has caused a stir with her sexy video for single ‘S&M’, and her raunchy performances at the BRIT awards and at last weekend’s NBA All-Star game in Los Angeles. The singer wore a crystal-covered basque, fringed hotpants and fishnet stockings to perform a medley of her hits, reportedly shocking some of the crowd (like usual).

Usher has defended her, saying: ‘Artistic direction is just that, you know, and obviously subjective. Everyone has their opinion and it’s a family show. I think she is a responsible young lady and maybe the song represented the attitude of, you know, think about it like this – how long have guys been grabbing their crotches?’

  10. Rihanna Record Sales Pass 10 Million In the UK

Rihanna’s record sales in the UK has passed to 10 million mark, her record label has announced. The singer has reached the milestone six years after the release of her debut album, ‘Music Of The Sun’ in 2005.

Rihanna is the only female artist to have a number one hit single in five consecutive years in the UK, and also secured the longest running number one of the last decade with 2007’s ‘Umbrella’, which retained the top spot for ten consecutive weeks.

Her most recent album ‘Loud’ has already prodcued two number one singles and sold over a million copies in the UK, becoming her fastest-selling album.

Mercury Music Group UK President Jason ILey said: “It was clear to me from the first time that I met Rihanna that she had the potential to be one of the most successful artists in the world. “It has been a privilege to work with her these past six years. I believe that we have only seen the tip of the iceberg, and I’m looking forward to seeing her achieve even greater success in the coming months and years.”

    MORE TO COME!

Rihanna scores sixth Aussie number one

Rihanna has topped the ARIA singles chart with her latest track “S&M”.

The track jumps two spots on this week’s rankings, marking her sixth Australian number one — previous #1s: “Only Girl”, “Rude Boy”, “Don’t Stop The Music”, “Umbrella”, “SOS”.

The Australian leg of Rihanna’s “Last Girl On Earth Tour” kicks off on February 25, in Brisbane.

  12. RIHANNA HAS THE #1 ALBUM IN THE WORLD AGAIN FOR THE 4TH WEEK IN A ROW!!!! SELLS ANOTHER 130,000 COPIES!!!

During the last 10 years the global album sales have halved, and an end of the ride down is not in sight. Rihanna's current set 'Load' is still the best selling album, moved another 130.000 copies, but that's

the lowest weekly figure for a no.1 album since nearly two years. In the week 05, 2009 Beyoncé's 'I Am...Sasha Fierce' topped with 99.000 copies. The same situation at no.2: there are still the Black Eyed Peas with 'The Beginning' and sales of 83.000 copies, also the lowest sales-level since the week 05, 2009, when the 'Twilight'-soundtrack occupied the no.2 position with 79.000 copies. Highest debut of the week is Sacramento's alternative rock band Cake. Their new effort 'Showroom Of Compassion' flies to no.14 with 46.000 sales. On the US-Billboard chart the album starts at no.1 with the tiniest figure (44.000) since Nielsen SoundScan began tracking sales in 1991. Cage The Elephant, another american rock-act, bows at no.19 with 'Thank You Happy Birthday' and sales of 41.000 copies. The self-titled debut by the country dou Steel Magnolia opens at no.27 (28.000 copies). Japanese singer-songwriter and actress Maaya Sakamoto tops this week's Oricon chart, globally she lands at no.31 (27.000 copies). The final debut comes from the french singer-songwriter Nolwenn Leroy. Her fourth album 'Bretonne' holds the no.1 on the official french chart for a second week and climbs to no.38 globally (24.000 copies).

“Another week! LOUD and What’s My Name are the #1 ALBUM and SINGLE respectively!!! UK you are on FYAH!!!Rah Rah! THANK U! Where my #UKNavy”
