Rock & Roll Hall of Game
So AT&T has launched a new "service" called "AT&T Next" where you can buy a tablet (and phone but lets focus on the tablet) and a data plan. Instead of explaining.. I'll just show the math To buy an iPad, 32GB with wifi capabilities, it would cost $560 (Apple.com) plus 30/month for 20 months for data*. Grand Total: $1,160 after 20 months To sign up for this AT&T Next plan and get the same iPad, it would be $27/month for 20 months plus $30/month for data* for 20 months... 540 Grand Total: $1,140 after 20 months... also the iPad is yours after 20 months.. as in you stop paying for it.. so in 40 months your bill will only be $600... The Next Plans include free upgrades, no activation fee, and a new line. Good idea or bad idea? * 3GB Maximum
CK1Czar
It's worth it if you plan on having a data plan for all 20 months. I'm mostly on wifi, so that would be a waste of money for me. The times when I do need a phone and can't get to wifi, my phone is good enough. I don't think the privilege of having a tablet that can connect to data when I'm not on wifi to be worth an extra $500. Just my opinion
