When I was in Israel and walking the streets in Jaffa and Jerusalem people would start speaking to me in Arabic and I just shook my head saying I don't speak Arabic. When I was at the airport leaving Israel they held me for 3 hours checking all my belongings and computer made me miss my flight. The attendant that was taking me from one part of the airport to another said to me that I looked exactly like one of their coworkers that worked at the airport with them and they thought I was trying to leave the country. I don't think he said all white people, I think he and I both can agree there is a set of people who benefit from being in the dominant hierarchy and continue to do so at the expense of "others" and some of the most atrocious crimes in humanity have been committed by the dominant group....thats fact. But I digress, Im not here to argue that ....Im here for Janet Thank you Bailey for explaining it in a much more eloquent way.
