GWURL GET THAT MONEY ANYWAY YOU CAN!

:excited::excited::excited::excited::thumbup:

Lady Gaga has described a lawsuit which claims she is misleading her fans by seeking donations for victims of the Japanese earthquake as "misguided" and "without merit".

The pop star's website is selling wristbands which say "We Pray For Japan" for $5 (£3.13). It also allows people to make additional donations and says "all proceeds go directly to Japan relief efforts".

But the lawsuit, filed in Detroit, notes that sales tax and a $3.99 (£2.49) shipping charge are added.

A lawyer based in Michigan, Alyson Oliver, reportedly believes that not all money is going to help the Japanese and has sought more figures.

The lawsuit, which was filed on Friday in federal court in Detroit, seeks class-action status and possible refunds for people who bought wristbands.

A spokesman for Lady Gaga said: "This misguided lawsuit is without merit and unfortunately takes attention away from the kind deeds of the fans around the world who are supporting the people of Japan.

"The entire $5 donation made with the purchase of each bracelet is going to support the disaster relief. No profit is being made on shipping costs. Sales tax charges were made in accordance with local legal requirements.

"Lady Gaga has personally pledged her own funds to this cause and continues to support the victims of the disaster."

It wouldn't surprise me if some money is being kept, but I doubt Gaga would even really know about it. Somehow I feel a star of her caliber doesn't have that much oversight on this project when she has so much more going on. And as if she handles her money herself.

But *shrug* I doubt there's much truth to it.
