janetDAYZ
Whitney Houston's memory will live on, as the world views her final film role and hear the last songs she recorded before her untimely death in the upcoming movie, "Sparkle." But the celebration won't end there. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the new film is set to be adapted into a new book, and will also hit the Broadway stage as a live musical! Howard Rosenman, producer and writer of the original 1976 "Sparkle," and executive producer of the upcoming 2012 version, tells THR that a book adaptation of the film was sold six weeks ago to publishers Simon & Schuster. The novel will be released Aug. 7, days before the star-studded movie hits theaters on Aug. 17. Rosenman went on to reveal that he is also teaming up with his co-screenwriter from the "Sparkle" original, Joel Schumacher, to bring the film to the Broadway stage. The duo plan to add five new songs to the movie musical for an exciting live-stage version. http://www.theboombox.com/2012/06/15/whitney-houston-sparkle-broadway-book/
