I recall the era as really cementing Janet as someone to stay in the game, Control, while a hit, some said it was a "one off"  what RN did was show how much more Janet was capable of. The evidence later came with her record breaking deal with Virgin records, making her the highest paid music artist at the time. 

I remember that entire album was in very heavy rotation on the radio, she won, as we know, a slew of awards. Janet did that   I don't think many female artists had the diverse audience nor reach Janet achieved. Off the heels of RN and signing with Virgin, Janet had a ton of pressure to deliver, which is why we have the over produced filler filled album simply titled Janet.

We didn't have to have 4 years of Trump, but what this election did prove is how damn important it is to get out and vote, it took all this mess we have had to get people to see the direction America is going in wasn't good. Black Lives Matter, MeToo, etc all came through to put this dude out.

  I messaged Bu and Selz, they both met Paul. You just never know what's going on in a person's life. Paul was a very attractive man, and he was strong willed on here, I just wish he was still alive, to crack jokes, diss, laugh, cry, love do all the things and see all the things there is to see. Her priorities now are completely different with Eissa being first, everything else is secondary.

I agree her priorities are her son, and life events change things for people. What's in question is the lack of engagement, and I read this thread and saw a lot of valid points that I will not deny. There is Janet Jackson the entertainer, and Janet Jackson the person, those two are very different people it would seem  

Mariah fans stand united, they will defend that chick on New Year's Eve during an obvious "fuck up" moment with a straight face  , they ride or die. Our fanbase has spread out, divided into different groups that get along and diss the others, Xone being one I can think of

I have disagreed over social media because I see social media as a platform for brand management and ultimately earning money, most of Janet's earnings were created before social media, so thinking from Janet's point of view, what is the incentive?   I've been a fan for so long its not easy seeing things as they are, remembering things as they were, but there's YT and all her old interviews and clips   that's all I have carry on my brothers and sisters ...stay up  

I hear the frustrations here, and I acknowledge there is a problem with how Janet is managed, but in the end it comes down to her
