  1. I just saw Finding Dory this past Saturday. Pixar is one of the best when it comes to sequels imo, and this is no exception. :) Ellen did her thing of course!

Potential spoiler sorta: During the climax, I liked how they referenced street names in the East Bay.

Also one word of advice. Stay through the end credits! I left before the bonus scene at the end, but at least I dug it up online.

The Tank Gang arrived at Morro Bay STILL in their bags a year later. I can't believe they never had Bloat expand to pop the bags open... or something! Rule of funny, I guess lol

  2. (I'm late on commenting lol)

"Me, Myself and I" deserved slightly better at least - the only Bey song I've given a 10 lol. I like "Naughty Girl" too though.

"Let Me Love You" is one of those songs I love when I first hear it, grow sick of after a while, then back in love with it again.

I tend to confuse "Burn" with "U Got It Bad," but it's aiight

  3. I'm taking my family to the drive-ins tonight to see Finding Dory!! Our son just turned 1YO 2 weeks ago, and we still haven't taken him to a real, indoor theater yet because he's not a big movie kid just yet.. He likes Sesame Street, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and absolutely loooooves Yo Gabba Gabba! But when I try to put on an animated kids movie with an actual storyline and characters with depth, he just dgaf lol..

so we take advantage of the drive-in theater for now..

anyone seen FD yet?? No spoilers, PLEASE! But I'm really interested in seeing how they work the "Blackfish effect" into the story.. Pixar was quoted as saying that 50 years from now they don't want this movie to be their "Song of the South," so they took great care into applying the public's growing shift of opinion when it comes to marine animals in captivity.. Really looking forward to it!

Hope you and your family enjoy it! I'm planning to see it this upcoming weekend. I heard part of it takes place near

    Morro Bay, CA
but I could be wrong tho lol

  4. I like that movie.. Wanted to love it, but ended only liking it.. Tom hanks was a great WD, but his accent needed work.. I also wished they had more Disneyland in it, as the trailer made it seem like there was more scenes of Disneyland, but in fact just about all the Disneyland footage was also all in the trailer! Lol.. I wasn't particularly fond of how many flashbacks they did, got boring after a while for me, although I know it was to explain her adult demeanor/behavior.. Lastly, as Disney tends to do, they sugar-coated a ton of the facts.. For example, Travers never liked the finished film (Mary Poppins).. She had vowed to never work with Disney again after seeing the film at the premiere.. So with that in mind, the film wasn't really as historically accurate as it could've/should've been..

overall i give the film a "C" grade.. If I wasn't such a huge Disney fan in the first place, the grade would've been even lower..

still... I bought that shit on bluray the first week it was out! ???

Yeah that's true about inaccuracies. I guess I've just grown used to it from many biographical films, so it inspires me to research a little bit lol. The film did leave it pretty vague whether Ms. Travers liked the final product or not, which of course she didn't, I guess for the sake of a happy ending. Also IIRC I think "Feed the Birds" was the only song she ended up liking although she still had some ...er... strong suggestions lol. The "Fly a Kite" scene was heartwarming though.

  5. Bumping this thread to show my appreciation. I've always loved 24 but now it's become one of my favorites ... at the moment at least! :D The way the song progresses from the tranquil beginning, then BAM! That funky middle section, and then finally the cool-out. Not to mention the 70s soul influence, the self-harmonies, it just has so many musically-rich elements ... and it's sexy. B)

  6.

I legit feel sorry for yall that don't know the janet. Album slays life, only filler is the interludes

Same, each song brings something unique to the table. I think the diversity was a bold move because not everyone is going to like every style. Sure I could see how some interludes like "Wind" and "Rain" could be considered "filler," personally I see them as transitions that set up the mood for the next track. But the songs? Nah, I love the every song down to the very last chord progression. Plus it doesn't hurt that nearly every song went on to find some form of a success.

Anyway that's my hyper-janet-mode rant of the day lol, but honestly it's albums like this that make me passionate about music.

  7. I started re-listening to "Magic Stick" lately. Half-dollar can't sing for his life yet somehow that doesn't ruin it for me lol.

"Beautiful" is descent for what it is. I find it a little corny and overplayed though.

This, except I've known about it for 10 years (but still same in I knew of the remix 1st, & thought the remix was a completely original great song) it's interesting though, I like the original more (kind of easily) but the remix has a stronger place in my heart honestly because I've known it longer and it did dominate radio and the music videos, and was a big part of my 8th grade year.

Yeah I've also known about the remake a good while longer, then once I heard the original version I thought "Hey I really love this" and pretty much tossed the other aside lol
