  1.

What does this even MEAN? :lmao: She announced her pregnancy on the first day of Black History Month. She's celebrating her Blackness. The only ppl who will have a problem with it are racists.

And your envy is showing. One artist announced their pregnancy via a YouTube video, the other on Instagram. Seems like both pregnancies were announced through social media, so both artists should receive the same treatment. The only difference? One artist is Beyonce.

Ppl went crazy over how it was handled? How the public responds to an announcement is not the fault of the artist. So what is this "crazy stuff" you're talking about? A photoshoot?

I think you mostly come here to argue now....

You're not saying anything.  Janet wanted to be low-key about it  and I respected that. I think she only announce it in that manner because she was on tour. Beyonce less so but I respect that too. And no one is putting anything on her. That doesn't mean that I l care about the memes or people acting like their related, basically going far beyond basic support.

You just want to assume stuff to draw your narrative against the fanbase.

  2. So basically you're upset that Beyoncé's photo has gotten a great reception and lots of attention? Got it.

Where did you read or find that I was upset? I've never stated my opinion on the matter on here. But here is it:

I think most people are happy about her announcement. New life coming in this world is a good thing, especially if it's gonna be in good hands. That said some people weren't crazy over how it was handled. Beyonce knows every time she make an announcement she breaks the internet and she used the moment to do so. it's not a good or bad thing imo but some people are turned off by how calculated she was about it. Personally the maternal pics weren't my favorite but meh. I personally don't understand my some people act like they are every gonna be within 100 feet of their children anytime of their life. People need to learn to stop living vicariously through the life of others. That said, just because some people have some critical thoughts on the situation, that doesn't make anyone jealous.

As for as Janet's pregnancy, I'm happy with the coverage. She made the announcement, the media and the public gave out blessings and she went to enjoy her pregnancy. None of this crazy stuff. Janet wanted her peace and she pulled all stops assure it.

  3. The hypocrisy is real. Beyoncé doing this pregnancy shoot is tacky, yet Janet fans don't say the same of those 20 Y.O. magazine spreads of her basically nude.:coffee:

But those spreads were far from universal acclaimed, especially to the general public, so there's no hypocrisy. But keep trying to draw your narrative as you please....

  4. on that basis, why the hell would she be motivated to give another album?

and im not one to give a shit about any awards, but I bet everyones panties would be moist if she got nominated yet alone won anything

of couse we would, as Janet fans we will always get excited over any recognition she recieves. But some of us don't need to be emotionally reliant upon those prospects, especially if she is among the most awarded of all time already.

  5. IMO, to be disappointed means you had some level of expectation. I didn't even know the Grammy noms were coming out. When they did I didn't check and didn't care. I also do feel that a lack of push/energy behind an album can make it age differently. I will agree there are some songs I skip more than I originally did when I first got the album but that happens with music. Sometimes the hype of newness blinds you but once you sit with it and let it all sink in you find your solid gems and the others that are decent.

But I'm only reading stuff like this in this thread.  We had a retrospective thread about this and I didn't read much of what I'm reading now. That's what makes some of the comments eyeroll-worthy.

Janet has done so much for us that I don't feel the need to emotionally invest in stuff like this.

  6. Lets stop acting surprised about expected stuff. I think some fans don't recognize that Janet is a bit detached from the industry as a whole. People love and respect her legacy but the days of her getting Grammy nods & award performances, & public performances is kinda yesteryear.

This album was GREAT on a fan level but for the average person, they're not as connected to it. That's just the truth.

I don't think that many fans were surprise but moreso a little disappointed. Imo, even if she campaigned it was a long shot. It's just that people now want to knock on the record because it didn't  get the outside validation some fans wanted.

  7. ch. you know how this fanbase goes, they love something till it's not a hit then they trash it lol.

But you can't tell them that this wasn't a low profile release. It shows they don't really care about the quality of the album. They can't enjoy Janet if they can't necessarily go on a stanfest about her.

  8. Sales really are the pits right now but for someone as HUGE as she was to struggle to even sell 50k is just mind-boggling.

If like 5 or 6 years ago someone told me that Alicia and Usher would be struggling to outsell Keysha Cole i'd be laughing all day long.

Yeap. Not to mention that she was coming off a huge era with As I Am. TEOF did good sales wise but it was the start of all the mashonda gate.

Problem with Usher was that he never wanted to be a true artist, therefore he lacked any real direction. And it showed as time went on.

Try Sleeping with a Broken Heart was str8 fire, and the fact that it only did moderately showed how that situation turned the fans and GP off.

  9. She fell of with Girl on Fire album... and the whole marriage thing.. that and this album literally has zero appeal for Billboard Relevant chart

    Same with Usher

The Element of Freedom was the beginning of the end. That album was helped by the holiday season. Idk if she understands what her marriage to Swizz Beats did to her career.

  10. Honestly, she looks very happy and I am happy for her.  We can talk about success this, legacy that, but that will never buy the feeling Janet is experiencing. I want that feeling for myself one day.

  11. You acknowledge it, and play with it a bit.

    Case in point:

Beyonce: "When he fuck me good, I take his ass to Red Lobster."

    Red Lobster:

    Result:

Red Lobster: Sales spike 33% after Beyoncé endorsement

    http://money.cnn.com/2016/02/09/investing/red-lobster-beyonce-formation/

A few simple RT's of the [good] memes and encouraging everyone to vote. It's a simply way of saying thank you while encouraging voter participation without taking sides. Gets the job done perfectly.

Let's keep in mind, the RRHOF is watching, and voting.

So again, hopefully this won't be yet ANOTHER opportunity slipping away.

    A business =/= a 9 month pregnant 50 year old woman.

Her health and that of her child should be a priority, not using some dumb election to promote herself, which I personally don't think she cares about.

  12. Janet aint won no awards since....

They dont even give em to her no more since shes an older act. Hell even with A4U janet was still succesful and she didnt even win no awards for that era hardly. She was getting lifetime achievements n shit. So yeah...its kinda pointless to nominate older acts when they dont even stand a chance. They are used as fillers.

She won an AMA in 2002 for all for you. Plus you also have to consider that politics and competition were way different from today.

  13. And what you say about her won't stop her from being the HBIC that she is. So what's the point??

Well I would think you wouldn't want to continue making a fool of yourself by talking about someone who had absolutely nothing to do with the topic, but if you like embarrassing yourself, be my guest. It's rather amusing to watch actually.^_^

I never insinuated otherwise. HBIC's don't care what other people think.

I can argue your foolishness in having some false sense of righteousness by entertaining us "pressed" fans. Honestly if you have a problem with the perceived "obsession" with Beyonce, it's not hard to go elsewhere to get whatever you need. I see spaces where Janet gets shaded and trashed. I just find something else to do.

  14. That doesn't answer the question. There shouldn't have been any opinions about Beyoncé period, considering it's a thread about CELINE DION. What are y'all not getting? Like, some of you are denser than the Macau territory.

Now we should be regulated on when and how we should talk about her!!!! Golden!!!

  15. If you're going to lump a bunch of people into a made up basket, don't use vague shitty words like "many" "most" "a lot".

What Dlite said holds truth. You know it does which is why you're trying to backtrack "well NOT YOU!!! But most!!" Dlite put you Great Depressed in your place.

They just wanna troll because they are mad about the era and some artists are a good tool.

  16. ^ I can say only the first post was petty. Otherwise, I don't think there's anything wrong or disingenuous with say Janet influenced other superstars.

Honestly, this is the first time we talked about Beyonce in a minute though. Go to the Free Xone,  She is not even on the first page.
