What people don’t know about the Grammys is that we can vote. We get mad at the Grammys like, ‘oh you didn’t pick the right person!’ But did you vote? Did you sign up? Any of these guys that are artists and singers and writers and producers, did you sign up and vote and pay your dues and go to the meetings and try to make a difference in this process? If you didn’t, relax ’cause somebody did and that’s who voted for whoever won. It is what it is. Am I mad that we lost to Alicia Keys? Absolutely! Do I feel like we had the better album? Yeah! But did everybody that participated in the TGT album register and vote the Grammys? No they did not. We just wren’t popular in the back room. Alicia Keys is very popular in the back room. It probably wasn’t even a matter of what the record sounded like or who influenced it.

I don’t point fingers. What am I gonna do about the fact that the AMA’s, in the R&B soul category, nominated Robin Thicke, Justin Timberlake and Rihanna? What am I gonna do about that? It’s not her fault that she’s in the R&B soul category.

PS) Artists don't get that much money from album sales.. the label does... but nice try.. The store gets half of what that $10 thing you made up... The label , writers, producers takes a large portion... leaving Beyonce with a few thousand.. more or less

How much an artist gets from album sells is based on their individual royalty rate. That rate determines the number of points the Artist holds out of 100 points total. If you just show and sing your royalty/point rate will be low. Beyonce is listed as a writer, proder and executive producer. Her royalty rate is quite high I'm sure, so Janet4life is correct in saying she's making a lot of money. However you are correct in saying she has actually been promoting all year. That tour wasn't for nothing and those videos were not cheap

He's doing himself a disservice.

His legacy depends on future generations of people being able to discover his music though sites like youtube, dailymotion and blogs. My 17 year old brother spends hours watching old hip hop videos on youtube and now knows about artist like KRS-one and wu-tang. He asked me about Prince and all i can do is direct him to the library to rent his old albums. Kids today know about MJ, Madonna, Janet and Whitney because of social media sites allowing them to access it.

Prince needs to get witrh the program and stop letting his inner Gemini douchebag control his personality.

Even though I feel some type of way about him, a live album from Nippy would be GREAT!!!
