it's like Janet can't win if she tried, if you ask why did she open with TAT and If she loses because TAT is a fan fav, but say she had not and was received badly on open then the argument would be "well Glastonbury that's a rock crowd kinda festival" so Janet opened with two well received rock tracks of hers, nope not good enough huh? :sigh:

Janet does a 50 minute set that has great live musicians and the entire set is kept fast pace and hard hitting, yet not too many compliments for the effort from Janet, Janet's team of musicians and their great work, no mentions of how great DJ Aktive is, no mention of how hard Janet and her dancers worked to deliver a knockout keep you on your feet set. I didn't hear any slow tempo songs from Janet, TTWLG is med-tempo and that was as slow as it got. Had Janet done slow tracks there would be bitching over why she do those you gotta keep it moving to rock a festival crowd.

Be thankful is all the hell I'm saying finding the good in shit :filenails:

my problem was the setlist for the crowd mainly, which made it feel disjointed. But on reflection I recognise she had a 50 min slot to fill in the UK at a major festival...it was never gonna be a perfect setlist. Though I hoped, I knew something other than a Metamorphosis rehash was unlikely, so what was she to do?!

......Yet I didn't hear anyone complain there about the song choices (except for you guys, lol). People online thought she was miming, but i haven't heard people say she was singing songs they didn't know?

People at Glastonbury seemed to enjoy the show.

fair point...I have heard many say how dead the crowd appeared though and ive seen some videos showing that. I believe the songs choice contributed towards that. Yes there were parts where the crowd appeared to enjoy most definitely...for those well known songs.

Stupid is a bit much. Even if RN wasn't that big in the UK, it's still arguable her most prolific project. That's how most people define her sound.

and she did almost the entire RN album her most Michael Jackson like project.......come on now! :sigh:

RN wasn't big here but yes it still iconic and well known. RN got one of the biggest response. What we are saying is concentrate on those well known songs...deep cuts like RNB Junkie, COGU, TAT are not gonna be that appreciated being performed here, ESPECIALLY a Glastonbury crowd.

I heard TAT how is that NOT for fans?

A diehard fan from the UK like myself...but I don't think there are that many here, especially not a Glastonbury.  Yes its a rock/pop song but opening with TAT made no sense. I truly believe Janet and her team assumed all her  UK fans would turn up at Glastonbury to see her...not a well thought out gig at all.

  5. The performance wasnt definetely not that bad. Though I liked her outfit Id have she would have a back up in case of weather changes...I was literally BOILING that day. Coupled with the dancers horrible outfits, it all coulda done with a touch of colour.

Sticking with the hits woulda kept the momentum going (Throb killed it though) but people appeared to be enjoying at parts

I'm sure Together Again will play well over there, was a big UK hit if I'm remembering correctly. Mainly interested in how different the performance/outfit will be from Metamorphosis. Not expecting a great deal though..

It most likely will be but then again Janet has not been predictable recently...fuck she might open with Two To The Power of Love featuring Cliff Richard 🤣

Glastonbury used to be a kinda rock/indie event in earlier years but that's all changed up recently. I could probably see If being done for the rock vibe, MYN, Nasty...TTWLG along with TA are believe are her biggest hits here.

    I can't

As much as Europe has been screaming for Janet to perform in they rinky dink countries they better show out. I know that! They show out for all the lessors and are they not other r&b pop acts on the itinerary?!

    y'all do the most

She is performing in the UK....that's one country in a big ass continent...culture varies throughout.

And the UK can get with r&b pop...its just she hasn't been present here recently...she has always been an underdog (she was never a child star here). The demographic of Glastonbury is also varied.

It'll be interesting to see how things go down that's for sure

look out Weekend cause here I come because Weekends were made for fun -_-

Any level of maturity among Janet fans ended when that janky countdown did and Janet got her wake up call that her fans don't fuk with her like that.

I will say that Janet has some of the best looking fans, it's alot of trade on Lemuria.

I think its unfair to judge the fans on that one incident in 2006!! The majority believed it was first new single after the DJ era...the countdown clock just built up expectation even more. Fans have never shown that much "hate" since, or before. After she confirmed it was a gift I think most backed down.

FB looked cute bc it went with the video and her jumping from planet to planet and being and intergalactic goddess, but live.... if she doesn’t bring her lil planet thing with her, it just doesn’t hit as hard

I actually really like the live versions, especially the latest interpretation
