Prince isn't even close to Janet when it comes to visuals. His ONLY signature move, as far as visuals is holding the guitar, and doing a split. Sorry, but Janet's visuals are far more intricate.

It's a beautiful country to live in and make money. I was just there last month. It's not perfect by any means, but they aren't exactly sexually profiling gays and executing them.
There's plenty of gay locals and tourists living there, getting it on, just not in the open. And I KNOW folks are knocking boots behind doors. My only issue was no porn is allowed in the country.

my comment was more meaning that, dubai and its society are fairly at odds with Janet, a lot of her sexual lyrics and tolerance of homosexuality etc.. so seems odd. but, i imagine she lives in quite a rich bubble and has limited contacted with ordinary people in dubai.

to be honest I wonder what she's doing performing/living in a country where homosexuality can get you the death penatly, or deportation if you're a foreigner., and where heterosexual sex outside of marriage is a crime, and where an australian woman living there was given 8 months in jail for having sex outside marriage after she REPORTED BEING RAPED.

Have you seen clips of her shows? Janet doesn't have a huge set up....it's just the stage. No big production or elaborate sets runways that reach out into the audience. You don't have to go to her show....it's as simple as that.
i've seen tons of clips of her show, i watched them in high anticipation of seeing her in london, then she cancelled on me.

I just wanna throw in the fact that when I saw Janet in San Francisco in October, the venue she played at only fit about 5k people, and she still put on the full scale show (pyro, stairs, Jumbotron, etc).. So hopefully a 5k seat venue will/should be big enough to do her full arena-type show..
ok well that sounds alright - the only reason I said that is because from the online youtube videos of her last show at the albert hall in London, the show was no doubt good, but it seems quite basic in terms of spectacle, whereas the videos from the unbreakable tour seem really full on and well put together- like a proper pop concert that you'd expect from any big name in music.

if she comes back to the UK I'm not interested in some watered down version of the show or some different version of it at the royal albert hall, with a capacity of just over 5,000.
that's where she last performed in the UK, 5 years ago.

this is what i'm afraid of. Especially as someone in the last thread mentioned that for the casual concert goers who aren't big fans they're probably gonna be like "hell no" not after I was cancelled on before.
well yeah - and the tour as it stands now suits a big arena - it looks like a big, impactful show. - if she comes to the UK and performs in a smaller venue like the albert hall in London, a lot of the OOMPH will be lost out of the show. - i don't know what to think about it... it'll be september because she comes back.....are the tickets gonna be the same price the second time they go on sale? she can guarantee people won't be planning to travel from distances to see her as that would include hotel/travel and too risky...

agreed... But I mean if the options were smaller show or no show, which do you think her die-hard euro fans would prefer? Hopefully she can still do arenas, but maybe just not so many shows..
yeah... but she's got shows planned up until end of August in the states, so European fans ain't getting anything for another 6 months at least. If she comes to the UK with the tour again, I will buy tickets, but will be wary of her cancelling again, and also, fear that many people won't be interested in buying tickets a second time 6 months later.

Hopefully they get rescheduled to smaller venues if the true reason for the cancellation was lack of sales.. AND hopefully the European buyers won't be worried about buying tix (again) to see her..
this makes sense but i can't help but think the impact of how good the show looks, would be reduced in a smaller venue.

I feel so bad for you, oh my God!! I read on another board someone was also flying from South Korea... It's so sad that fans who support her so much don't even get a decent explanation why the tour got cancelled. If she stays silent I really think about giving back my fan card, this is flat out disrespectful.
this is exactly what I mean! I genuinely feel disrespected - I've invested loads of excitement in the show for months and she clearly has access to her instagram account seeing that she told us how excited she was to perform for us ... but no, nothing, but she'll still perform in dubai.. i just feel like she doesn't give a shit.
and then the people on here defending her and stuff it's like.... i'm a fan too, but i'm not gonna delude myself to the point where i start defending shitty beahaviour.

I agree, and it should've come before hand, whatever she has to say, and that's something that she should've been doing, when my RWU date got reschedueled I found out through Ticketmaster the day of, and I had the thought I wished it was from her before them, and still that could be fixed, but it's not to say she won't say something

if she postpones the already once postponed tours in the U.S to come back to Europe - that'll piss everyone off,
if she doesn't - she won't be back in Europe for another 6 month and, unless she gets those tickets up on sale ASAP...people are gonna be doing other stuff
