Yes it is fire. Have you seen it live? She’s killing it and it looks great. 5 seconds of it is walking. Also everything you blame on Gil is more Janet then Gil. Thats a fact. She has multiple dancers in her camp capable of choreographing her a piece. She likes comfort more than she likes change…Gil has been trying for years to get us these type of set list. She had to agree. Nonetheless YAR is fire.

I’m so happy everyone is hearing it now. The song is very fresh and upbeat and its very current as far as sound to me. I’ve always said part of the challenge in Janet’s newer music is that it would always have a bit of a dated sound. This go round she’s pulling in new producers who really seem to get her. Vocally she sounds great and the music is just enough to get the ball rolling. I’ve said before Janet knows whatever she creates from here on out has to be music she can perform in later years. You can see the crowd on tour with this song. You can see the dancing & the colors. It will have an energy of a Together Again.

Gil did You Ain’t Right on this tour, and it’s fire.

So here’s a guarantee that fans will either embrace or be unhappy with and either way, Janet will be unmoved and continue. Janet is a FIRM believer in God & is in a place in her life where she wants to be not only open about it but whatever you believe for her she wants it to be known that there’s a source she believes in & it’s rooted in love and faith. Her faith is, and always has been, a fabric of her life. Loooong before Tyler Perry movies was the in between era interview with Rachel at her beach house where she even then discussed her faith in God. Before & after that was every award ceremony where she won and thanked God. If you notice any time Janet has ever gotten the opportunity to mention God in an interview she speaks quite passionately about it. Fast forward to now, a bunch of undertones will be love, God, unity, peace & positivity.

I personally feel Daddy Yankee was a wild card. Daddy Yankee as a collaborator is likely to appeal to an international market more than it is to expect a chart topper. While I believe they would like a song that charts it seems more about strengthening another market. Despacito was so good because it was unintentional. They NEVER thought it would do as well in the American market. So it’s not necessarily a “guarantee” or formula. MFN is already very commercial & pop-ish, trust me you will see very soon. Janet COULD have gone with someone like Cardi B or Bruno to guarantee numbers but she went very international for a reason. It throws it for a loop. But we have a good amount of things to come.

If you remember I was mentioning that this will be the time where you get closest to an era like you remember them to be. Seeing Janet often & promoting. That basically starts this week, but we’re going to get a lot from Janet.

I hope she never does this or any other affiliation with the Super Bowl.

SOTW is the UB tour with an updated set list and without the occasional steps used on the side. Literally. SOTW has better visuals IMO & UB the Eagle was a bit - eh to me. She was in her eclectic space & while symbolically it has very dope meaning...for those not plugged into that they totally miss it. UCAP was Janet’s most underwhelming tour & we all should know what it was truly about at that time. SOTW is by far miles away from it.

Trust the process this go round it’s definitely for a reason. Touring stipulations and contracts can be funny

I’ll say this, indirectly…Janet has been dropping subtle hints to you all as far as direction. From the African dance in Throb to the attire for the BMA. It’s very uptempo & afrobeat vibe for sure. With a pop/commercial kinda sound. And I believe the video has the potential to really deliver - it’s in the right hands creatively.

The 3 year thing with Unbreakable wasn’t ever intended to be a 3 year “plan” for the project but it was more so a security contract that she did with her crew in an effort to make sure they’d be available to work. She did this because she knew she was still planning to tour as much as she can, but there might be breaks - Eissa. BUT she has a plan with the new music & there’s going to be a good amount of stuff THIS time that never was meant or thought of for UB. I’ll say - this is probably going to be the “era” like you’ve missed.

If the Jersey is subliminal for Kaepernick, which might a stretch & if it would be kinda corny to not just be ballsy & headon support boldly without subliminals. It also could be reflective of the moment that changed her history. Who knows.
