  1. yeah that'll be it yeah haha

well I don't know what your shade is about but Janet remembers it well. She was talking about how she had not met her fans there. She tweeted it after the video. She wouldn't forget the 2nd city of the british empire. The city that lead the ship building industry. -_-:coffee:

  2. Unbreakble is definitely a better album than janet. Infant All for you is a better album than janet. in my opinion. all for you gets such a hard time, yet there are so many good songs on it and an album that introduced janet to a lot of new fans.

AS for TVR, well I think TVR will always win because it just has so much depth and substance

  3. For me, the fact that she didn't promote or do legs of the tour is not a big deal. It's the way it was all handled. It was hyped up at the beginning. We thought we were getting era.

Had janet just released the album like prince for example then none of these expectations would have set in.

But I think in many ways we were lead to believe we would get a full on janet jackson style era. That's what's lead to the disappointments.

For example, you wouldn't plan a arena world tour in places you haven't been for years if you weren't planning on doing it big. It was all misleading.

  4. I feel sad. This should be the happy news for all janet fans. We've followed her all these years and now finally she could be giving birth to not an album but a child. THIS SHOULD BE THE HAPPIEST TIME OF ANY FOR A JANET FAN!!

Instead with the circumstances it doesn't feel celebrated. I guess janet was stuck in a hard place as to how to handle it.

  5. Perhaps her doctors told her shortly after the tour started that she can't wait any longer. Maybe the surgery was a woman issue and that's when it came up.

I am gauging from the video that she is already pregnant and that's why she waited and has been quiet before officially saying anything. I hope it's true.

I hope we atleast get some sort of footage of the tour in HD and we get the dammn baby video.

  6. I'm enjoying watching the US fans suffer now after many of them had no sympathy for european fans after the cancellations there.

This is still odd to me. She has actually said she's pregnant. I hope ot comes true though. She deserves to have a child.

  7. I'm black and lgbt but went to private catholic school through high school, and am an attorney. It doesn't mean I'm blind to what's around me. And the Super Bowl thing wasn't just because Janet was black. She got the brunt of it over Justin because she was a black woman. The big blowout over the less than a second incident was a distraction from the pointless war. And a way to make "family value" a talking point for the election, much like Bill Clinton's affair was used to push for George W's initial election. Bill's affair and Janet's waldrobe malfunction were both examples of alleged liberal values ruining America.

The reason why janet got the brunt of it was because she was the bigger star and a powerful person. Justin was just a nobody to them in this situation. What does race even come in to it? Show me the receipts? Show me the people, the radio djs saying they decided to ban Janet because of her skin colour???

It saddens me that people will accuse people of racism without even a bit of proof.

Some of you need to have more faith in people.

There is so much more to be concerned about in the world than who is nominated for an Oscar >_>, like the corruption and poverty and terrorism in Africa.

  8.

:lmao:  There they go!  There they go!  Thats the ultimate sign of White Privilege.  Thinking that we have 1 black President in the last 200 years we have been set free.  GTFOH. What type of bubble do you live in. White privilege does not mean you are racist.  It means you have certain advantages because of the color of your skin.  White Privilege is not knowing that you have it. It goes beyond poverty.   Privilege is not just dealing with rich or poor.  "If the jackson 5 can do it so can you" You have to be kidding me.  You really are embarrassing  yourself.   It shows you have no culture, no education, you hang around the same type of people, you have never travelled and you watch too much TV.   You obviously did not understand anything in my last post.  You probably have no clue what any of those things were.  Explain HBCU's to me?  Why do we have them?  Explain why we have the congressional black caucus.  Those aren't poor blacks and they work their asses off.  Explain why these things still exist?

FYI, I have friends of many races, including blacks. They are all doing great things.

Saying white people have advantages because of the colour of their skin? That's about as dumb as if I said there is  black privilege in athletics because blacks can run faster

  9. White privilege is a thing. Just like male privilege is. If you are anything but a middle aged, white, protestant, heterosexual upper middle class to affluent male in the United States, you automatically have some form of "handicap" against you. A woman makes $0.70 cents to a male dollar. A hispanic or black female makes $0.63. If you're lgbt, you're looking over your shoulder about even keeping that job in some places. And, yes, low socio-economic status crosses all colors in the US. And there are people on Wall Street and who we have voted in Congress who keep people in a low-socioeconomic status and have all but eradicated the middle class, leaving almost a 90% working class and poverty class by convincing poor white people that all minorities are the reason they are poor. And convincing poor minorities that there is nothing more for than being poor or going to jail.

I'm gay and a succeess. I have not been stopped for it. In fact I've been encouraged. So your privilege theory is just nonsense.

  10. Don't assume.  I'm not black.  I'm a big mutt(Spanish/German/Italian/Cherokee Indian).  But if you really don't understand the politics of what happened to Janet after the Super Bowl and how it affected her career for nearly a full decade you are blind to how black women especially in entertainment are viewed and are held up to a different standard when it comes to their sexuality. The U.S. has come around for the most part as far as Janet....even the FCC admitted late last year that they took it too far.  Janet was America's sweetheart before the Super Bowl and after that was blackballed in the industry as far as radio airplay and the media and MTV not running her videos.

As far as Michael he is more cherished now than he was alive.  Michael was a joke in the U.S. from the release of History until he died. Internationally he was always beloved. But back to the point....don't discuss issues of race in the U.S. especially when it concerns a black female and sexuality.

you contradict yourself. The reason why people overreacted was because she was Americas sweetheart, not because she is black. People respected janet, grew up with her, she was a family favourite.

Going by your theory, Is like saying that people turned against Britney because she is white. No they turned against her because she was once another American sweetheart but she went nuts and 'chaotic' lol.

How can you say this is about race, after all the years of success janet has had in America. If it was about race, janet or Beyoncé or Rihanna or Whitney  or mariah never would even got a record deal.

  11. LOL.  Don't ever tell a black person in America we should be fortunate to be living anywhere.  This free country was built on the backs of slaves and the opportunities and privileges any white person living here has is because of our ancestors and their sacrifice.   And you have to be joking with your whole statement.  Living in America as a black person is an example of how we are stopped from succeeding in everything everyday.  Thats why we have affirmative action.  That is why we have HBCUs.  That is why we have the congressional black caucus.  That is why we have TV One and BET, That is why we have the NAACP. That is why we have Black Girls Rock.  That is why we have Essence, Jet and Ebony magazine. The struggle of inequality is real. You need to do some serious research or either click your heels 3 times and leave up out of Kansas and try and see what reality looks like.

Michael was popular just like Janet and the white media turned on him just the same.  MJ came from the biggest boy band of all times and had an album sale damn near 100 million records of course he was more popular.  But you see his ass was treated differently after the molestation accusations.  Woody Allen goes untouched.  Roman Polanski goes untouched and gets a standing ovation at the Oscars.  Michael was not embraced the same as a black man.

I don't see how you can claim that today, being black and in America means being stopped from 'succeeding', when you have a black president.

Yes, there is history, yes there is problems, but I just find phrases like White privilege deeply insulting, as if all white people are guilty of racism for just simply living. It's a disgusting phrase to use.

It is just not true that all white people were born privileged. Poverty and discrimination is colourless. It's all over the place.

Point in, living in America, there is nothing stopping you from succeeding. If the jackson 5 can do it from a poor neighourhood in Gary, anyone can succeed and break boundaries if you work hard. Maybe you're just not working hard enough ;)

  12. She is overrated but she keeps her name out their even between albums.  She manages to stay in the public eye and also keep her life private and only lets you see what she wants you too kind of like Janet use to do.

fair enough. But if it wasn't fur this thread, I wouldn't even know Beyoncé was doing anything. She's just as quiet as janet.

  13. and plenty of Black folk worked hard for no pay.....it was called slavery.....were your ancestors slaves?

oh palease. Get over it. It was centuries ago.

My ancestors were slaves to war, being called to fight in WW1 and 2 but I don't go around calling all Germans Nazis and saying they have German privilege.

  14. Actually Janet did apologize. Justin apologized in order to go to the Grammy's and even tho Janet did she was still uninvited as she said. That's white privilege buddy. Sorry but it is.

Rubbish!  That was not an apology. It was a 'sorry if you were offended' pretend apology.

The Grammys said they could come on the show if they apologised ON the show. Justin did, people let him move on. Janet refused. She was wrong. She should've gone on and admitted she made a mistake.

Its going nothing to do with race.

You really need to get over this nonsense about white privilege. There is no such thing. Whites, or anyone for that matter, don't owe you anything. We ALL have to struggle along in life. Go listen to the song 'You'.

  15. Another one in a bubble!  Didn't I tell you to change your member name? Where the do you live?  Cause if you don't live in the States you need to stop discussing racial politics.  Once Janet's breast was unleashed America woke up and said "Oh shit I didn't know Janet was black!"

I'm assuming you are black, give me an example in your life where you have been stopped from succeeding in something by a white person because he/she didn't like the colour of skin?

You talk so much crap. People knew janet was black and loved her. People saw her as the normal jackson.

Why then was michael more popular when he was black. Funny how what you consider racist America, started to dislike michael when he turned White.

You are so ignorant of how fortunate you are living in the free world and the opportunities you do have.

  16. im sick of this shit....RACE MATTERS!!!!!!  it has and will continue to matter, only white folks with privilege can think it doesnt matter, but when you're black and you live that second class citizen life, you know that the color of your skin MATTERS....it changes shit...makes your chances in life less, I often say to myself, Im Black and gay....two strikes :filenails:

    White privilege??

My family (Caucasian) 100 years ago where of a working class background in trades, crafts and garment production. My generation of family are now running busineses, accountants, lawyers and teachers. None of my family went to private schools or could afford to buy education. I had free tuition at uni. It's called making full use of state education and WORKING HARD. It's got crap all to do with privilege.

How many of these African American  communities are stuck in this victim pain body, blaming all their fall backs on white folks. It's boring. Unless you are aristocratic and have inherited a fortune, we have all been in the same boat having to prove ourselfs and our blood line proud.

  17. What does RHOF have to do with the conversation? Stop compounding shit, if it wasn't racially bias Justin would have experienced the same treatment. Period. He would have lost endorsement, performance privileges, career would have been hit, but that didn't happen.

Madonna can simulate sex with a religious figure & it not even blemish her. So, your lack of being able to see it doesn't make it less real. You're like Diane Sawyer thinking its just "Little tiny toxic darts" where as Janet who EXPERIENCES it first hand, overstands its not little it's blatant. But when you're exempt it's easy to overlook. It's privilege of sorts.

the reason why Justin didn't get punished was he apologised. Janet didn't apologise. That's why she was blacklisted. Not because she was black. That's nonsense and there is no evidence of it.

the reason why Madonna can do those things is because she's largely viewed as a joke. Janet was actually respected. So people were pissed when she popped her boob out.

I'm tired of people using the race card. Black peoples have been and can be successful too in America nobody is stopping it. for goodness sake, you have a black president.

Michael and Janet's careers are what they are now because they themselves did a good job of sabotaging it. The fact that Michael invited kids in to his bedroom had nothing to do with his race. The fact that janet got blacklisted for exposing a boob to millions of families across America ia not because of race.

They have made these mistakes. What's lame is they never admitted to making mistakes. Michael couldn't even admit that inviting kids in to his bedroom was wrong, innocent ot not.

  18. I'm sure we will love the video when it comes out. No need to worry about beyonce.  Janet gets overshadowed by anyone these days. Can't blame nobody but her.

I don't get this Beyoncé hype. "Exciting" only comes round once in a blue moon. She's not done anything "exciting" like ever. Lady Gaga's fame was the last time anything was "exciting" for people (although not me).

Maybe it's cause I live in Europe, not US. Here, I don't think Beyoncé is as followed. A bit like Janet.

  19. You wouldnt understad becus of ....well lets face it. Youre not one of us. So....yeah

 She was a target, but because she appeared to deliberately expose her boob to 120 million Americans. Not just because of her skin colour.

If Madonna had done that, she too would have faced repercussions and blacklisting for sure. Where a difference would have occurred is in their personal handling of it. Janet went really wrong by not explaining herself. Madonna would have explained herself.

  20. it went down after Rene and Tina.  The Super Bowl stunt does not happen with Tina in the picture.  As far as Madonna goes she is a white women. The rules are different. Janet could not manipulate the press like that in any lifetime.  As far as her men this is the worse case scenario. Wissam has done more interviews and photo shoots this era than she has with his body showing by the way. The whole religion is just insecure men who try and excuse the behavior by falling back on the Koran the same way Christians do with the bible

lol this is not really the place but it not quite the same. I often see people say that  but it's just not true. Christianity has been through a reformation and is streaks ahead.

I feel janet didn't handle the SB fiasco in the right way. She never explained clearly what was 'suppose' to happen. It's like David Letterman. The only reason why he pestered her was because she wouldn't give a straight answer. She tried to flirt her way out of it instead of answering the question.

But tbh I never understood why she never got the SB show to herself, where she could've performed a new song.
