Amazon Introduces the Fire Phone

Recommended Posts

Amazon has finally entered the phone market. Amazon announced it's newest product today: The Fire Phone.

The Fire Phone features a 4.7" 3D Gorilla Glass display with a 720p resolution (The iPhone 5s is only 4"). The Fire Phone also features a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera that captures 1080p videos and a mere 2GB of RAM.

Amazon is promising the device will last 285 hour on standby, 22 hours of talk time, 65 hours of audio, and 11 hours of video.

The phone comes in two storage capacities: 32GB & 64GB.

The camera is equipped with a new software called "Firefly" which will recognize books, movies, music, phone numbers, QR codes, CDs, games, URLs, bar codes, and more.

This is yet another Android based smartphone, running off Fire OS 3.5.
