  1. And blogs HAVE done that in the past. Whether it's a message board or social media, they use our own words against us to support their agenda. Exactly boo. Because it's not always the haters saying things, it's fans who feel entitled to discuss Janet's private life just because they've followed her for years and support her career. They get out of pocket. Yes. Exactly. That was for fans, non-fans, the media....everyone!
  2. Condemn is a strong word. I'm not concerned about all artists or fans of other artists. My concern is participating in discussion with Janet fans. Speculation can and does run along the lines of negativity, especially when what's being discussed is mistaken as a fact or the truth. Everyone is free to discuss what they like, but if it's negative, offensive, or unproductive, I'll speak against it because you all know better and that's not what I'm here for. What may not seem "deep" to you may be so to others. It's fine to have an opinion, but we all need to take accountability for the content we bring to the table. No matter how "deep" or light hearted a discussion may be. We can agree to disagree and there's no love lost. I always have and always will love Janet, the fans, and most importantly, the music.
  3. It seems like she uses both her music and performance as an outlet for her emotions. I think it's healthy and therapeutic. ?
  4. It's already been posted on there. She has more love than shade on There. But the Janet fans always clock and resend. Everyone gets shaded. I don't care. I just go for discussion.
  5. No, I don't speculate anymore. Because it doesn't affect my life and I get nothing from it. What do I get from discussing something I didn't go through? MY issue with speculation is fans overstepping their place with their conspiracies and speculation as if they know it to be fact or truth. And then going around with that information as if they experienced it themselves. Wishful thinking? I do that often. But speculating about her faith, family, friendships, marriages and relationships? I stay away from it, because making assumptions makes an ass out of you and me. I know my place and position as a fan, I make boundaries. I admire Janet for her career, music, and showmanship. Her personal life is off limits. I appreciate her discussing topics like abuse, but that doesn't give me a window of opportunity to discuss HER experience with abuse. We should be discussing what abuse WE experienced.
  6. I'm glad Janet added What About to the setlist and we're discussing abuse. My only issue is that there's too much speculation, when none of us know what happened. That can be dangerous. And again, I see some folks reverting back to their stereotypes about Islam and Muslim men, when abuse can and does happen in any faith, culture, or part of the world. It's offensive to associate it with one group of people when all of us are susceptible to facing or being affected by abuse.Whether Janet faced abuse in the past or recently, we should still be careful of assumption and focus on applauding her for shedding light on abuse. Whether it's verbal, physical, or emotional, it's wrong.
  7. I recommend Number Ones first. Then start from her debut and finish with Unbreakable. Add her remix albums, bsides, unreleased tracks, and features with their respective albums.
  8. Houston show just started! Here's my review of opening night...I'll be doing more in depth later.
  9. To be fair, I also never thought she would perform 24 play and I was shocked to the core when she did, I was in complete and absolute shock and I still can't get over it. No one can!
  10. Tour Merchandise Blog http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3lvFT_-kmj My opening night adventure and show review is next! I only took four videos and a handful of pictures. I wanted to enjoy my night. I'm getting the hospitality package for the Florida shows. She was nothing short of amazing! Thanks. I'm 29 though.
  11. I got to chat with Gil before and after the show. Same with Whyley he's cool. Spoke to all of the dancers. Gil and Whyley came to the meet up. Very friendly and took pictures with us. They hung out for 30 minutes or more. Fans came from everywhere...love them. So nice. Tyler Perry and some of the Haves and The Have Nots cast were there (the ones who play the president, Wyatt, and Hannah). I said hi to all of them. I was interviewed twice!!!
  12. OMG That's The Way Love Goes has a lot of Aaliyahs Rock The Boat. And she milly wapped during one of the first songs. I screamed during 24 Play. In total shock still omg. I was so close and she looks so good.
  13. https://youtu.be/pQriRztMxoQ In Lafayette and ready for ha!
  14. My flight leaves at 7! I hope Irma causes no harm to the islands and Florida while I'm gone.
  15. Another teaser using Racism and New Agenda is available!
  16. Number Ones is currently #5 on US iTunes. Available for $6.99
  17. Most of the city of Houston has dried up and debris is now being cleaned up. http://abcnews.go.com/US/houston-begins-assess-hurricane-harveys-trail-devastation/story?id=49536088 According to the Houston Toyota Center website, Nicky Jam & Plan B are performing there on Friday September 8th. Janet will be performing there on Saturday September 9th. http://www.houstontoyotacenter.com/ There has been no word on any cancellations or postponements. The arena was used as an additional shelter for evacuees at crowded locations, but there are many local arenas and venues being used as well. https://www.bizjournals.com/houston/news/2017/08/29/mayor-turner-announces-houston-curfew-toyota.html Other shows around the city of Houston are going on as scheduled. http://www.chron.com/entertainment/music/article/Music-venues-reopenings-postponements-and-12160985.php
  18. On one side, I see your point. The city is in a really bad shape. However, more delays/cancellations/rescheduling might create problems. It's up to Live Nation at this point. There should've been a decision made a week ago when Harvey hit.
  19. I know I do. I just wanna know where the team is! Or if the plan was to do no promotion or marketing from the start.
  20. The video removal was a mistake and an apology was issued. I don't think Janet has a team aside from those who will be on tour.
  21. Shoulda coulda woulda. It didn't happen and there's nothing we can do about it now. I'm going to enjoy myself and have a good time. I hope the same goes for all of you.
  22. Every artist should care if venues are full or not. And where is her online team? I wonder if she even has one. Either way, I just snatched forth row for Lafayette for $60 and I'm overjoyed!
  23. Lost 2 classmates to drug overdose in the last year.
  24. I can finally read between the lines and that's EXACTLY what I'm getting!
