  1. And finally!! Some 2017 media coverage... http://www.thedailybeast.com/justin-timberlake-owes-janet-jackson-some-goddamn-respect
  2. But in that movement, my question is this to whom should this energy be directed. Because all of those ready to toast Justin Timberlake IMO aren't going at the actual culprit here. Better to organize and stand up to not only the NFL, but the music and media industry which blacklisted Janet because of their racism and sexism. We always talk about how Justin has never apologized, but neither have the Grammys.
  3. I mean if you have a full understanding in which you can explain the intricacies involved in structural racism, please enlighten me. I'm all ears. I understand it from my perspective, for sure, as I've had to live it. But most people don't.
  4. The UK's Daily Mail gave a review from Vancouver... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-4926542/Janet-Jackson-flaunts-curves-FOUR-slinky-concert-looks.html
  5. A BET review from Fresno, posted late yesterday... http://www.bet.com/music/2017/09/27/janet-jackson-state-of-the-world-review.html Don’t be fooled, Janet Jackson has a clear and firm grasp on reality. With 51 years of age under her belt, countless No. 1 albums, and dozens of accolades (including one BET Award, 13 Soul Train Music Awards, five Grammys and one Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award), Jackson has undoubtedly achieved icon status, permanently leaving her mark in the history books. But even as she’s set the precedent on what a music icon’s career should look like and essentially hasn’t known a life outside of the limelight, she hasn’t seemed to lose sight of what’s real. Her State of the World tour, the eighth concert series of her career, was a clear reminder of that. While State of the World was a history lesson in the form of a musical art performance, stacked with crisp choreography and pop hits that reflected the decades they dominated, it was also a subtle hint that she is well aware of our nation’s current social and political climate. Even more, the singer’s concert in Fresno, California, was a declaration of the state of Janet Jackson herself beyond the scandalous headlines and swirling rumors. .....
  6. We seem to be in a growing media push around Janet, hopefully in the lead-up to some big events. Any Janet articles you find, please post them here.
  7. I definitely don't agree with how Justin handled everything back then, but come on. He's one pop star trying to navigate a world full of structural racism that he simply doesn't understand (let's be honest... that no one fully understands). And yeah, he DEFINITELY threw Janet under the bus, and that was DEFINITELY wrong. He was 23, and young people make mistakes. Before we write him off, I'd be interested to see what, if anything he has learned from the experience, and how he handles it if he's indeed selected to perform. A thoughtful apology and recognition of Janet could go a long way, especially if Justin plays a part in orchestrating that. At the end of the day, we are here for Janet. That's why we care, and that's why, like her we have to move past it. The true Poetic Justice of this whole situation is happening now. Every fan that shows up at Janet's concerts, every piece of merch sold, and certainly every full arena is evidence that the vile racism and sexism displayed by the industrial media complex DID NOT and WILL NOT WIN.
  8. It would make sense, as Runaway was a Number 1 hit in Canada.
  9. Ok, I'm gonna say this... No more than Janet, Justin Timberlake cannot go back and change the past. He's said that he could've handled the situation better, and even Janet said on Oprah in 2006 that he did reach out to her. The question for me will be this... how does Justin Timberlake handle the situation once this particular spotlight is on him. It would be great for Justin Timberlake to step up and say he won't perform unless the NFL removes their Janet Jackson blacklist. It doesn't change the past, and it doesn't undo the damage to her career, but at least it would serve as a way to help everyone move forward. And there's no better time to do so than when Janet is crushing it on a world tour.
  10. Janet definitely helped, but yeah this song has been fire. Taylor Swift was so desperate to try and ward off Cardi B from the Number 1 Spot she discounted her singlr to .69 cents. Cardi B probably would've hit the top in a few weeks, but what Janet did was expose a whole new segment of the audience. Now older folks know who Cardi B is. And while that is happening, younger folks are also taking notice of Janet, so it was a two-way street that benefitted both of them.
  11. There's a handful of regular tickets left... NOTHING under $180. LAWD I'd like to go, but...
  12. It was cute. But at least we know new music is coming, some kind of way.
  13. The timing suggests that whatever drops today will be big news. And in Kelly's previous tweets, she's said to subscribe to her show for "big things coming up" which suggests that today will only be the first of several exclusives. But given that Kelly is unmatched among others in the media when it comes to The Knowledge of Janet's music and tours, it seems like she'd be the one to break news in either of those areas. But yay, speculation time is almost over!!!
  14. Wow this was it... especially given that it's coming from someone less familiar with her work.
  15. For context-- Janet and her crew have their first show in Canada on Tuesday, Sept. 26th (Vancouver, 1of 3 I think?) so it would be sensible spot if she decided to do some promo. Kelly is an elite-level Stan so if she wants to discuss or premiere NEW MUSIC, it would be the perfect forum to do so, without fear of having to delve into personal stuff. I still think October 6th is a good possible release date for something.... relatively quiet and would provide a great shot at some good chart position. With ticket sales improving and some very big shows ahead (LA, Vegas, etc.) Janet's tour is kicking into high gear. Great time for new stuff to leave us GAGGING!!
  16. Another ominous tweet from Kelly Alexander. Could this be a long-awaited interview??
  17. Hmm so Gil is with them too? They may have been going to/ coming from a business meeting. Discussing roll-out, etc.
  18. Eissa really does seem to be the sweetest, calmest baby on earth. Every time we see him, he is just cool as a cucumber!! And i kinda feel for them, never being able to just go out on a nice sunny day. Not easy. And no wonder he's so light... he never gets to play outside!!!
  19. Katy Perry sprinkles some Janet Jackson into her Witness: The Tour (around the 2:30 mark)...
  20. Not sure how true all this is, but the one I do know. Denzel Chisholm is FIIINE. I really don't know how Janet can resist Any Time Any Place-ing him every night. ?
  21. Yes Unbreakable was amazing, but so much has changed for Janet since it came out. A new era necessitates some new music.
  22. Still trying to figure out how it missed the Billboard 200.
