  1. Wow... Incredible footage! You're right, it is the best I've seen online so far. Thanks so much for sharing.
  2. I tend to use my iPad for web browsing, so I guess mobile?
  3. I live in Liverpool. And sadly, no that's not me in the pic - I only wish I was that good looking!
  4. BeFour is amazing - it's been my most played track for the last two weeks!
  5. I never understood why the US version of that GH included all those dance remixes. The UK/EU version with the originals was much better.
  6. The new All Saints album. One Woman Man and This Is A War are amazing - so glad they're back!
  7. The only Austin Mahone song I've liked so far has been What About Love - and only because it was a sort of throwback to late 90's pop a la BSB/N*Sync. This faux R&B sound doesn't work for him at all.
  8. Yeah I know what you mean. Obviously for artists like Janet, Madonna, Whitney, Mariah etc... who have had multiple decades of hit singles and albums, a single disc GH is never going to be able to do them justice. But sometimes it's nice having a single CD that showcases only the best of the best. For example, I personally prefer listening to Whitney's Ultimate Collection (which was a single disc release) than her 2-CD Greatest Hits set.
  9. This was a Top 20 hit in the UK, so it did OK but nothing amazing. I've always liked The Wanted (they were one of the more acceptable boybands of recent years IMO) and Nathan was by far the best singer in the group, but I haven't really enjoyed his solo outputs. I do quite like what I've heard of his next single though (Give It Up) which samples my favourite Blackstreet song (Don't Leave).
  10. IMO the promotional artwork she's used for her last two tours have been better than the artwork used for their respective albums.
  11. I should also add that although I've loved Janet's music since the 90's and had bought all of her albums up to 2009's Number Ones collection, it wasn't until I saw her live during the UCAP tour on Valentine's Day 2011 in Hong Kong that I became a huge fan! I was so excited about seeing her in concert again this month in Manchester, but sadly that wasn't to be.
  12. It's probably because I'm from the UK... The Best Things In Life Are Free was a huge hit over here - in fact I think it was her highest charting hit (it peaked at #2).
  13. Yeah DRM was a tricky one for me. On the one hand, it was a bigger hit than STCML as you said, and I did also think about including it over The Best Things In Life Are Free. But on the other hand, even though it was a big hit at the time I do feel like it's one of her more forgettable hits. I know the same can be said for STCML but in the end it just came down to personal preference I guess! I did also think about replacing STCML with All Nite, so that all her naughties albums are represented* with one track. *Disclaimer: I like to pretend that 20YO never happened!
  14. Hey everyone, l'm feeling a bit bored at the moment so I've pinched this idea from another forum. Now that the Unbreakable era is over, if Janet hired you to put together a single-disc Greatest Hits CD for her whilst she's busy planning her family, what songs would you include? Remember, it's only a 80-minute disc so we're looking at 18 - 20 songs max depending on which edits you use. Yes, you must be brutal! Mine would probably look something like this: 1. What Have You Done For Me Lately 2. Nasty 3. Control 4. Let's Wait Awhile 5. Miss You Much 6. Rhythm Nation 7. Escapade 8. Black Cat 9. Love Will Never Do (Without You) 10. The Best Things In Life Are Free 11. That's The Way Love Goes 12. If 13. Again 14. Together Again 15. Get Lonely 16. All For You 17. Someone To Call My Lover 18. Feedback 19. No Sleeep Of course I'm absolute devastated that I couldn't find space for The Pleasure Principle, Come Back To Me, You Want This, Scream, Doesn't Really Matter (even though it was a #1), Son Of A Gun & All Nite (Don't Stop)!
  15. The fact that she was wearing that ridiculous nipple ring (or whatever the hell it was) tells me that their little stunt was intentional. Obviously they never anticipated just how much backlash they would receive for it, but oh well... Anyway, I pretty much agree with everything in the original post but this really could have just gone into the venting thread.
  16. Bizarrely I was first exposed to Janet's music not from Janet herself but through some Cantonese covers of some of her 80's hits. My parents used to play a mixed tape in the car featuring a couple of songs by Leslie Cheung (a very famous male pop singer in the 80's and 90's). It wasn't until years later when I got the Design Of A Decade CD that I realised What Have You Done For Me Lately and Miss You Much (both of which I loved) were actually originally performed by Janet! The same goes for Love Will Never Do (Without You), which I first heard performed by a Cantopop singer called Sally Yip. I briefly remember the janet. era (the videos were always on heavy rotation on MTV) but I was still too young to appreciate the music then. It wasn't until I saw the video for Together Again and bought The Velvet Rope that I became a fan. It was one of the first CDs I ever bought and to this day remains one of my favourite albums of all time.
  17. I might try giving that a go to try and get out of work for the rest of the school year. My students can always take their exams in 2017 instead. ?
  18. She should start by releasing the Dammn Baby video...
  19. That happens to me all the time whenever I bring up "Janet" in conversation.
