  4. Michael Jackson’s sister Janet Jackson is being accused of shamefully swiping a massive memorial to the King of Pop erected outside his childhood home in Gary, Ind. The Moonwalker’s kid sister is under a dark cloud after the eight-foot tall monument featuring Michael dancing disappeared — in the middle of the night — “around the time Janet was in Gary,” an insider said. “It’s more than a little suspicious. She would have had plenty of time to sneak in overnight and have a professional service truck move it to a storage facility. No one would put it past her.” But why would the 51-year-old songbird selfishly rob millions of fans from seeing the memorial to Michael, who was killed at age 50 by a 2009 drug overdose? “She doesn’t want to share Michael with the world, that’s why,” said the insider. “She finds it repulsive people come to the little white house in Gary to gawk. In her way of thinking, it’s fame that destroyed her brother.” The source also notes Janet “hasn’t been herself lately.” The Nasty songstress has been “under a great deal of stress” from her divorce and custody battle with fat cat businessman Wissam Al Mana, her third hubby and dad of her only child, year-old son Eissa. “To say she’s paranoid would be an understatement,” said the source. “She fears her ex is spying on her. She’s anxious all the time. She doesn’t go out in public without her bodyguard.” The beauty is also on the outs with relatives for taking over the care of her dying 87-year-old mom Katherine, the family matriarch who controls Michael’s $2 billion fortune. Until Janet whisked her away, Katherine was supposed to be watching the Thriller legend’s kids — Prince, 21, Paris, 19 and Blanket, 16 “She got into a huge fight with Paris and Prince, who accused her of keeping them from their grandma,” said the source. “Katherine is elderly and doesn’t know what’s going on half the time. There are some in the family who believe Janet is taking advantage of Katherine in order to control her bank accounts and credit cards.” Meanwhile, “a lot of people in Gary are complaining that Janet was the mastermind behind the monument’s disappearance,” said the insider. from Radar Online
  5. Joe has posted a sweet compilation video for Janet on his Life at 90 website http://www.lifeat90.com He also has a book coming out called Precious Moments although I’m not sure how much Janet is featured in it.
  6. Janet is savvy she holds on to every bit of control over her material that she can. Don’t forget Michael was ahead of his time when it came to owning material so I’m sure he would have told her how important it is to hold on to her masters. I know in LaToyas book she said Jack Gordon sold her masters behind her back and how she regrets that as it’s so important to own your own material.
  7. My point is I think it is wrong and slightly creepy to post the street names. Sure if you happen to know the area fine but it doesn’t sit comfortably with me to be posting for all the world to see that she shops at xxx and xxx and can be found around the streets xxx and xxx
  8. I was just reading some of the comments on Instagram on the last lot of photos of Janet in London and there was a comment on what area to look for her in London that really unnerved me. Whilst it may be possible to identify her location from photos I really don’t think it is right to post the street names ect. That’s why in the last photos of her I just put that they were in London even though I know the shop name and location. The fact that she seems comfortable to walk around London without heavy security is great and something that would be a lot harder to do in L.A and truthfully it’s her right to walk around in public without fans following her or trying to track her down.
  9. Hmmm I am a little sceptical. Your link has been deleted and there is nothing on live nation, ticket master or on janetjackson.com.
  10. It’s COLD! Dry snow on and off all day and we are due a lot more snow apparently ️
  11. Unlikely, we have had snow today ?
  12. via NYLON magazine Janet Jackson’s ‘Discipline’ Was Way Ahead Of Its Time In honor of the album’s 10th anniversary, we explore why Janet Jackson’s 10th studio album, Discipline, was ahead of its time when it came out in 2008. People were hoping for something a little more like 2006′s 20 Y.O., something like... Well, honestly? We don’t really know. What were people expecting from Jackson? She was—and remains—pop royalty, a diva in her own right, and had recently been through a PR nightmare—thanks to Justin Timberlake. If she’d released an album reminiscent of Rhythm Nation 1814, it would have been reductive. She had to do something drastic, something that moved the needle in a way only Jackson could. Discipline may not have been the album people thought they wanted, but it sure as hell was the album Jackson needed to release. Let’s not forget, Jackson was in a peculiar place 10 years ago. She had left Virgin Records on poor terms and was still reeling from being virtually blacklisted following the Super Bowl “wardrobe malfunction” four years earlier. At the same time, the pop scene was spiraling; the release of Britney Spears’ Blackout in late 2007 laid the foundation for Top 40′s imminent club-friendly renaissance, which would only be further cemented when Lady Gaga released a juggernaut called “Just Dance” in April 2008. The sound Jackson helped make iconic was being replaced with a much more electronic sound. So, instead of going against the grain, Jackson went with it, linking up with Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins, Dernst “D’Mile” Emile, and then-beau Jermaine Dupri to imbue her brand of R&B with flourishes of pop’s future. The result is a 22-song deep album that, if released today, would have the kids gagging. Jackson may have leaned a bit too far into the future a decade ago, but, even then, its lead single, “Feedback,” banged. (It still does!) As a fey 15-year-old anxiously anticipating pop’s next Blackoutmoment, songs like “So Much Betta” and “Rollercoaster” felt revolutionary to me. Jackson was flexing Missy x Timbaland-inspired productions through a decidedly pop lens. Though her voice is processed to no end, the raw sexuality and flirtation are still palpable. A decade in and the songs still go hard. Look, did Ms. Janet create a masterpiece with Discipline? No. The interludes, which run aplenty on Discipline, went against the burgeoning singles-only culture iTunes was fostering then, bastardizing the concept of an album altogether. But in between those seconds-long tracks are honest and true jams: “What’s Ur Name” is a sensual highlight trapezing with fetishism and hookup culture; “2nite” takes the anticipation of sex to a disco cosmos; “Discipline” is an ode to S&M wrapped in an impeccable soulful package. When Jackson drops the “yo” in you for “Rock With U,” she pushes the song Michael made famous in 1979 to 2079 where sensuality and carnality have somehow become bedfellows. It’s future-funk, and it’s infectious. But what else would you expect from “Ms. Jackson, if you’re nasty”? Restraint? Please. A little discipline is more like it.
  13. Waaaaiit so your name isn’t Bailey??? *insert Eissa/Janet side eye*
  14. Joey Harris one of Janet’s new team members is at the United Nations Global Engagement Summit in NY. I wouldn’t normally have looked twice at this as he is associated with the UN but Randy is there with him ? Previously known as Members’ Day at the UN, the Global Engagement Summit allows UN advocates to participate in a day of dynamic and informative discussions on the most pressing issues facing the United Nations. This event unites world leaders with our nation’s top grassroots change-makers.
  15. I’m with @vibeology on this one. Be cautious and protect yourself first. If he is genuine and wants to make amends that’s fine but make sure he knows what it is he is sorry for and not just saying sorry for sorrys sake. I don’t know how he treated you in the past but his diagnosis now could explain his past behaviour in which case he wasn’t wholly responsible for his actions. But make sure he isn’t the type to be sh!tty and blame it on his mental health. Bottom line is it’s up to you and you don’t have to do anything that you don’t feel comfortable with and if that’s the case then tell him that. Why did your Mum call you John???
  16. Rigged. The Russians messed with it.
  17. This is where you need to borrow a child/offer to babysit. i would have a panic attack if I saw her, I would probably just about manage a wave. I also don’t go to London or have family anymore in that part of Westminster so that sort of rules out the possibility of bumping into her.
  18. ? looks like it but he is grabbing the hood so it’s his thumb.
  19. Then offer her some ? that way you don’t look like a freeloader/creep, you get to stay somewhere cheaper and she gets paid. Win, win.
  20. Jareiq Kabara is the president of Janet’s Rhythm Nation label.
