bu. Posted April 25, 2011 Share Posted April 25, 2011 Petals is probably one of my all time favourite Mariah songs like EVER. It's that one song that just touches me like no other. Like Janet had The Velvet Rope (album) I think Mariah as a couple songs that put together would make HER Velvet Rope and Petals would be the highlight. I was listening to the song yesterday and I just started writing my own version, relevant to my own life. I think it's finished though some of it just feel right so I might change things. Plus I got some extra lines in the last section and one verse less I think. Anyway hope you like. My cousin said it made her emotional I often stared to space And wondered if the stars could guide me I always think if I deserved to have a perfect family The duckling that lost its gravity Ugly lost out in sea A dandelion blown out in wind The flower wilted and lost its spring And I wish that I could be the perfect cover I see now that I tried to understand my sister And just know that I'll never stop.
