The court ruled it to be unconstitutional as it treats lesbians and gays differently than straights under the law. The Pentagon has put a halt on all separations of lesbian and gay service personnel. About time! Formal repeal of DADT is expected at the end of July or beginning of August. Bailey Posted July 9, 2011 Share Posted July 9, 2011 My understanding of this is a lower court ruled it unconstitutional, that does not mean it cannot be appealed all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court.
