An actor in low-budget gay porn films is the prime suspect after three severed body parts belonging to the same person were found in three different places in Canada, authorities said Wednesday. Montreal police have named Luka Rocco Magnotta, 29, in the gruesome case, in which a severed human foot was sent to the headquarters of Canada’s ruling Conservative party and a blood-soaked package with a hand was stopped by police at a Canada Post terminal. Police found a torso Tuesday in a locked suitcase behind a Montreal apartment building. The building’s manager, Eric Schorer, said Magnotta had been living in the building for almost four months. “He seemed like a nice guy,” Schorer told The Canadian Press. Several residents in the building told the Montreal Gazette that police believe the torso belongs to an Asian man who also lived in the apartment building and is apparently missing. A video claiming to show Magnotta stabbing a man several times on a bed was sent to the Montreal police, the Gazette reports. Ottawa Bureau Chief Robert Fife reported late Wednesday that the note with the foot, which arrived at Tory headquarters Tuesday morning, said six body parts had been distributed. Police found a severed hand in a parcel addressed to Liberal Party headquarters in Ottawa later Tuesday. "Canada Post and the police are now working, trying to find those four other missing body parts," Fife said. "And that note also said that the suspect indicated he would kill again, and that is why the police are trying to find him, and fast. Police say there is no political motivation behind this, this was the work of a madman." Since 2010, animal-rights activists have mobilized to identify him after a video surfaced allegedly showing Magnotta placing two kittens in a plastic bag and then vacuuming the air out, suffocating them. Two more videos, also depicting the torture and killing of cats, also have been linked to Magnotta. At one point, a $5,000 was offered to bring him to justice. He was expected to appear in a German court later today. The Bild newspaper reported the 29-year-old self-styled porn actor and stripper, who had been the subject of a global manhunt and on Interpol's 10 most wanted list, was arrested at an internet cafe in Berlin's Neukolln district, a working class area, citing police sources. Bild said the owner of the internet café had recognised Magnotta and called police. He was picked up about 2pm local time, German Police Chief-Supt Stefan Rieldich told the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. "As far as I know, he was arrested alone and there was no struggle," Rieldich said. Magnotta is being held at the Berlin prison and is expected to appear before a judge today, the CBC reported. According to AFP, an employee of Eurolines, which operates buses throughout Europe, claimed he had seen Magnotta board a bus to Berlin from Paris on Friday night.
