A similar thing happened to me at Macy's. I was hanging out with my friend's in the beds section, testing out new beds. All of a sudden one of my friends grabs my other friend's phone, and she jumps on him to get it (we were the only minorities there, there were also white people horse playing). Right after she got her phone, the manager walks over, and says "we can't have this in the store". My friends and I quickly apologized, and thought she would go away. However, she told us that we had to leave because we weren't buying anything anyway. I then walked away, to the living room section, and wrote an email explaining how I was racially profiled, and asked to leave bc the woman assumed I wasn't going to buy anything (I'm actually a Macy's black card customer). Within 10min the store manager had her in his office, and put her on the phone with me. She said she was sorry, and she's from Sweden so there was a language barrier....Macy's gave me $100.
Btw this was the flagship store in Manhattan
