Barrack and Michelle Obama's famous "fist bump" will now go down in history, as they've just coined the action in the dictionary.

Merriam-Webster President and Publisher John Morse says he considers the word "the star of the group" for its ability to succinctly capture the movement and emotion of that simple act of solidarity.

When Obama accepted the 2008 nomination for presidency, the Washington Post described Michelle and Barrack's knuckle-knocking love gesture, "the fist bump heard 'round the world."

Morse went on to say, "Everything else on the (new words) list can be somewhat tied into a theme, whether it's technology or social change or sports. But fist bump is just pure American culture expressing itself in its own vocabulary,"
