I didn't realize Jessica was so tiny!

I want to see the performance. :( Is there a video somewhere?

I wonder if she ever watches her own performances.

It's like, gurl... This ain't Broadway. People are gonna laugh atchu! :asham: Even on Broadway I would've busted my ass laughing.

They still shouldn't have cancelled it like that.

They couldn't even fit in ONE performance?

“Enough’s” Not Enough: Donna Summer Tribute Scrapped From ‘Idol’ Finale

On Tuesday night after the top two "American Idol" show taping, Broadway star Kristin Chenoweth and Season 11 runner-up Jessica Sanchez pretaped a performance of the Donna Summer/Barbra Streisand classic disco duet "Enough Is Enough," which was supposed to air during Wednesday night's "Idol" finale as part of a tribute to recently departed diva Donna. But apparently "Enough" was not enough for "Idol," since the performance never ran. According to tweets Kristin posted on Thursday, the number was scrapped due to time constraints.

"Apparently AI ran so late they scraped the whole donna summer tribute bc of time. :( bummer," Kristen tweeted. "They cut the entire donna summer tribute [song] due to time. There was a great medley with other singers too. :("

Kristin also retweeted a comment from an irate fan, who said: "Not cool. Time management sucks at AI. You don't do that to Donna Summer and to you."

While the male finalists' tribute to another late disco legend, the Bee Gees' Robin Gibb, went on as planned, there were certainly other segments of the finale--like that overlong video tour of Steven Tyler's rock 'n' roll dressing room--that could have been cut instead, if necessary. The other singers that Kristen alluded to on Twitter, who had supposedly been scheduled to appear in the Summer tribute, included Jennifer Holliday (who did sing later with Jessica), Gloria Gaynor, Patti LaBelle, Thelma Houston, Sheila E., and Nelly Furtado, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Fox representatives have yet to respond to Yahoo! Music's request for comment on why the performance did not air, or if it will ever be shown (on television or online) at a future date. No photos of the pairing appear on "Idol's" official website, but some have still been posted by fans online.

But an observer told THR that the Kristin/Jessica duet was "weak," and another audience member told Yahoo!: "It was great to see Jessica do an upbeat song and I thought she sounded great, but I don't think they blended well, and Kristin seemed a little off."

It's possible that the segment was scrapped because the "Idol" powers-that-be thought it didn't show Kristin, Jessica, or Donna in the best light. But I bet it was still better than seeing Steven Tyler hang out with a sloth!

Interesting article.

Even if it was a weak tribute, it's not like American Idol hasn't had its share of mediocre performances. :umm:

Either way, that tribute better be uploaded on the internet or shown at a later date. :umm:

You're right. I'm actually kind of mad because I forgot Patti LaBelle and Sheila E. were also involved. What the HELL are they thinking for not showing that?

even in death she is not getting the respect she deserves

Disco remains a dirty word...

i was just thinking about all she has done for today's pop & dance culture... There have only been a very few who influenced music like she and moroder did.

They were so ahead of their time, so many times...

before there was New wave

Before there was trance
