  1. Only Janet song I don't fuck w/ is Moist from DJ. I wanted to slap the fuck outta my girl for recording that bullshit. Used to hate The 1 from Disc. but it grew on me minus the dyke's verse.
  2. This article is on point! I have a good feeling about this era, the stage is set for Janet to make that comeback that was supposed to be w/ 20 Y.O. The media seems to be kissing her ass, non fans are curious about the new music...great press all around. http://i-d.vice.com/en_us/article/its-time-janet-jackson-got-her-dues
  3. I felt like I'm the only one who knew all the words to Never Letchu Go when she performed it in Oakland five years ago lol
  4. Uh, I wanna see you under my covers... Naw, but I'd love to see her perform new material. No more number 1's but more album cuts
  5. I thought this would be her swan song
  6. Kendrick is the only big name I'd like to see her collab with... No Drake, Nicki or any of those cornballs. The queen has never been feature heavy so I'm not worried
  7. Janet's "To Pimp A Butterfly" Part Deux is coming... ^^^^
  8. I remember you too! Do you still have your blog?
  9. I will bet hard w/ anyone that this album will be in the vein of RN1814. Didn't Jimmy tweet something about this month regarding "casualties" and the Baltimore riots while working w/ Janet. I don't think this album will be "light" like the last three (still LOVE DJ, 2O, Disc. tho) She knows the stakes are high, she knows people are hungry for Janet w/ a message. I believe this album has been in production since late 09 after MJ died...she took her time ala control, rn1814, janet, tvr, afy. I'm just anticipating good music while letting everything else fall in place. I don't expect radio to embrace her but the buzz will be huge no doubt.
  10. How old was everyone when Discipline was released? I was 19 and a freshman in college....it's been too long.
  11. I rode for the queen during the dark years (20 yo, weekend, FHM spread, discipline era) when so many fans were jumping ship. Now everyone wanna hop back on the bandwagon now that she's back and fabulous.
  12. I can't believe after all this time it finally grew on me. It's been on repeat for the past couple of weeks, the Queen's vocals are heavenly! i can't decide if the Design of a Decade version has the best instrumental or the video.
  13. Does the poster Libra still post here?
  14. And only you can fill my needs I'll lay here & take care of it Til' you come home to me...
  15. The guitar solo at the end of This Body is epic. However, I can admit that Black Cat shits on This Body in terms of production, lyrical content, and impact.
  16. Was just listening to "Hey Hey Hey Hey..." from the 3D album and realized how underrated their "final" album was. Those throwaway 16 bar verses from Left Eye (except the one on Girl Talk) were trash though. I think they have one more album in them, but I'd prefer Chilli sing lead on most like w/ Fanmail. Her voice has only gotten stronger w/ age/
  17. If Janet never releases another album I'll be happy that at least everything came full circle w/ that final song. Everything about it from the arrangement, muffled horns, introspective lyrics, vocals is just perfect...a nice sendoff for the true fans that stuck by Janet til the very end. I don't know why but Currains always gets me in my feelz when I listen to it. It's my favorite Janet song post-AFY next to Enjoy and Take Care.
  18. There are so many variations of bullying and oppression. Naturally I'm a very shy, easy-going type person so that makes me an "easy target" to insecure, emotionally-stunted assholes who bully and oppress people. They do it aggressively, passive-aggressively...they will any way to bring you down. Why is that? Why does humiliating the next person or being catty make you feel good about yourself? It's the old adage: The oppressed are always looking for someone to oppress. I notice this behavior a lot within minority communities such as the black community and the gay community. Everyone's on the lookout to sniff out who is the "punk" or the "weak" one in the pack. Wasn't it our idol Janet Jackson who said "put others down...to fill us up. Oppressing me will oppress you." So I just want to say don't go through life being nasty and unkind to your fellow man. Life's too short, be nice to one another. As corny as this may sound, I truly believe that if you treat others with respect and kindness then you will be rewarded greatly throughout your life.
  19. Are you forreal? Fanmail still sounds fresh today. I could easily hear Silly Ho or I'm Good At Being Bad on the radio in 2014. The album was ahead of its time.
  20. Why? Fanmail was considered their comeback album and every hip hop/r&b album post-2000 followed that futuristic theme.
  21. What ever happened to the old board? I remember it crashed back in like 2010 I think... But, yeah, I used to post back on that Janet board from 2005-2010...time flies, now i'm all grown up.
