  1. In the runner-up slot this week is Fantasia with her fourth studio effort, "Side Effects Of You" (91,000). It matches the 2004 "American Idol" winner's highest rank, logged when her 2010 set "Back to Me" also debuted and peaked at No. 2 (117,000). However, "Side Effects" represents the smallest opening week for Fantasia, though it's not all that far from the sales start of "Back to Me" almost three years ago. http://www.billboard.com/articles/news/1560116/michael-buble-tops-billboard-200-fantasia-arrives-at-no-2 I'm impressed. She actually has pretty consistent debut weeks. She definitely has a core fanbase that continues to follow her. The album is good too.
  2. Video premiere tonight on 106 & Park!

  4. Kelis Announces New Album, 'FOOD,' Releases New Song Last week, Kelis announced via Twitter that her new studio album had been completed. Now, she's sharing a track from it called "Jerk Ribs" and provides more details. The upcoming album has been given the working title of "FOOD," which has been a running theme for the singer. Back in 2010, without a label to provide necessary funding, Kelis (a recent culinary school graduate) offered to pay producers with home-cooked meals at her in-home studio. The new song doesn't bear the dance-heavy, electronic vibe of her last album, 2010's "Flesh Tone." Instead, it has more of a classic R&B/soul vibe with plenty of horns and strings. http://www.billboard.com/articles/columns/the-juice/1560082/kelis-announces-new-album-food-releases-new-song @ the bolded.

    Eve - "Eve"

http://youtu.be/qXP8MGWmp68 I like it a lot better than the last poppier song.

  7. Just goes to show you that radio and club play isn't a huge factor in album sales anymore. How many recent #1 dance hits are from successful albums?
  8. You know, it's hard to tell if you're being sarcastic or not. lol
  9. I thought it was universal truth that Control is the best cover.
  10. This link opens up in iTunes: http://www.itunes.com/Decade Damn, it's been 10 years already? I was still in high school when it first launched. I remember being so jealous of the American store. The content in the Canadian one was pretty shit. It has completely changed the music industry in such a short time period. Check out the link. The milestones are interesting. I remember when most of them happened. lol
  11. I can't deny that I loved "On the Floor" and "Dance Again". I'm sure I'll be shakin my booty to this song too.
  12. C-error continues to live up to her name. Why is she still trying to sell sex when it's clearly not working for her? I like the song and the video is mediocre, but there's a reason she continues to flop. She needs to at least attempt to address it instead of churning out the same shit each era.
  13. Nevada lawmaker’s surprise during gay-marriage debate: ‘I’m gay’ LAS VEGAS — As Nevada lawmakers took a step toward repealing a state ban on gay marriage, the late-night floor arguments in the state Senate floor in Carson City were emotional and came with a surprise announcement. One state senator told his stunned colleagues that he’s gay. The Nevada Senate voted 12-9 Monday night to begin the process of repealing the gay-marriage ban from the state Constitution. Supported by 11 Democrats and one Republican, the bill, Senate Joint Resolution 13, would amend the state Constitution to remove a provision declaring that marriage is only between a man and a woman. The measure also includes wording guaranteeing that religious organizations do not have to perform same-sex weddings — a move to mollify two senators who are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The night’s most surprising moment came when state Sen. Kelvin Atkinson, a Democrat from North Las Vegas, told his colleagues that he was gay and proud of it. “I’m black. I’m gay,” he said in a shaky voice. “I know this is the first time many of you have heard me say that I am a black, gay male.” Atkinson argued that gay marriage does not threaten any legal or moral definition of the union. “If this hurts your marriage,” he said, “then your marriage was in trouble in the first place.” The measure still has a way to go before gay marriage is a reality in Nevada. The idea still must pass the Assembly, where the Democrats have a 27-15 edge. It also must be passed by lawmakers next year and approved by Nevada voters in 2016. http://seattletimes.com/html/nationworld/2020845265_nevadagayxml.html?syndication=rss ----- @ the bolded red quote.
  14. The Hours Funny how you appreciate certain movies more as you get older. I think this was the third time I've watched it. Nicole and Julianne did. their. thang. Meryl was good, but it wasn't really a role for her to shine in.
  15. Nice video. I was wondering what she was doing with the album.
  16. I can't handle it either. It's too iconic.
  17. I knew what were talking about, but I had to YouTube it. I remember when she first introduced her all-female band. It's nice that she kept them around. I wonder if Bibi makes more money than Kelly and Michelle.
  18. I don't know which is messier: or I currently have the Thug Misses version. It doesn't come up on my phone too often, but still.
  19. Confessions on a Dance Floor is too much for me. For me, it's Dangerously In Love. It's too... sparkly. It's borderline Glitter. I don't think I've ever seen it before now. It is such a mess. I would probably delete the album artwork if I had that album.
  20. I like that she seems so close with her band. It feels like they've been with her forever, or at least the guitarist has.
