  1. He's right to a certain degree. To just place random black people in a movie or play is pretty much tokenism. What the journalist should have asked him is why he doesn't write or create BLACK CHARACTERS? That would force him to hire black actor by default.
  2. The VIBE video posted with Angela Stanton being interviewed clearly details that phakedra was involved behind the scenes from day one. Her story provides details as far back as 1998. Even then the situation was set up for Phakedra to be everyone's lawyer and to keep her ands clean. But she was still involved as a mastermind.
  3. The stunt she pulled with Ne-yo was not gossip. She stood on stage and claimed to have written irreplaceable only to have him not only dispute that claim, but go on record and flat out say the song was not only written long before Beyoncé saw it, it had already been shopped around and offered to Fantasia first. None of this is gossip. This all played out publicly throughout 2007. She gets paid for adlibs but she is not writing lyrics. I doubt she'd even know what the subject and predicate of a sentence is, so how is she gonna write verse, chorus and bridge?
  4. Beyonce's antics are known throught the industry. Linda told no lies. Beyonce is a great singer and entertainer. That's enough in and of itself. Everybody can't be good at everything. And truth be told, Beyonce aint the only one. Usher, J-lo and Riri have all been accussed of credit jacking in the past.
  5. Vanessa Williams was a big fan of Janet as well. She was in the audience during Janet's SNL performance in 94 and she often cited janet as a influence during the 80s and 90s. Pebbles flat out said Janet's control album opened up a lane for her to follow and that she was a fan as well. The only divas i know who shaded Janet are Madonna, Lalah James, Natalie Cole, Prince and JT.
  6. I agree Jody has spoken very highly of Janet and MJ over the years. I remember Jody talking about how Janet had sent her flowers and congrats at her Grammy win so i don't see the shade there at all. Janet also sent flowers and words of encouragement to Taylor swift after the Kanye West fiasco.
  7. Maybe she will be touring all of Europe and she is just flying into London first.
  8. She doesn't look like Aaliyah period. She a pretty girl and her song "replay" was my jam. But she still doesn't resemble babygirl. It has nothing to do with her being biracial. Biracial people play back characters all the time and vice versa and its no problem. However, Hollywood has a history of thinking "we all look alike" when we don't. You can't do a biopic and just randomly pic any pretty girl to play the role. Plus the other girls who auditioned for the role looked way more like Aaliyah than Zendaya did.
  9. Jason Darula is around and doing well. His greatest success came post 2009. I remember when I used to think Jason, Taio and Colby were the same person. Jason came into his own for sure. The cataracs are producers Dev was in there crew I thought. But they were more behind the scenes and Dev still writes and sings hooks. FEM has a new song out right now. Its not blowing up yet though. The rest.......
  10. I know Tish was going to Santa Monica college during the Janet era and Janet would pick her up from school. That was documented in RS article with the legendary cover. Santa Monica is one of the best junior colleges in california and many of the students there go on to UCLA. I was pround of Tish when i heard she had become a doctor. That was a special era in the music world when the dancers started being known as much as the arist themselves. It really started with the flyy girls on In living color. When that show blew up being a dancer became hella popular. People started to recognize Jossie, Omar, Peanut/Shawn, Big Lez, Darren, Tina and Keith. Im sad to here about Keith. He was handsome to me back in the day.
  11. When you walk outside practiaclly naked, you're looking for attention. She wanted folks talking about her and now she has it. However, she can't dictate what they say. When you are a provocateur you need to be ready for people to judge your behavior. Otherwise, stop doing what you do. For the record, i thought she looked beautiful in her gown last week.
  12. So he purchased the team for about 12 million back in 83, the team is estimated to now be worth 375 million and his wife just secured a deal to sell for 2 BILLION! Now he wants to sue the NBA for another billion. He's actually winning.
  13. Well to be clear, I live in the SF bay area, so for me, a car and a his own house are not madatory. You can get around pretty well out here without a car and the average house cost about 700,000. Most people rent and a lot of us have roommates.
  14. A job is mandatory! He needs to be doing something for 8 hours a day that generates income. And hustling doesn't count. If your job can land you in jail I'm not here for you. When It comes to the car and housing situation I have agree with game. depending on the city you live in a car isn't necessary. In NY, SF or Boston a car is actually more trouble than what its worth. But in LA, Miami or Dallas you need a car. And depending on how expensive your city is roommates or living with family is okay as well.
  15. And you're off you're meds. I thought you were better.
  16. Basically. Not to mention, every Aaliyah clip he's posted has been vocally better than anything MC has done live in the last few years.
  17. Yes the lyrics are great and tell an interesting story. Babyface has always been and will always be a great writer. A lot of MJ's songs are told from the perspective of abused women so STTR was perfect for him. I just don't like the production on the final version of xscape. I actually like the production from the leaked version with him and Justin Bieber a few months back.
  18. RIGHT!!!! I don't know why he's tryna do this Mack shit. I've liked him since 90210.
  19. Some how he made that work. He didn't even match MJs vocal intensity because he never could. So he changed up tempo and flipped it. Kinda how Genuwine dib "when doves cry" on his first album. I like what he did with it.
