  1. I just got this response from another fan on a diff forum about this topic that I figured I'd share here:
  2. My 8yo daughter is named Alexandria, but she mostly just goes by Alex.. My almost 2yo son is named Zackary, but he goes by Zack mostly.. and that's it.. we got our kids, one of each, A-to-Z and we're done!
  3. Norm.. my spidey senses are telling me that you're a die-hard-super-mega-suck-a-fart-out-her-ass-stan of Nicki's.... so before this goes on any further, imma just leave my input on this discussion as is..
  4. I agree that obviously Remy isn't on Nicki's career level.. but to say that she's nothing more than a woman with a mic and internet is a little bit of underselling Remy imo.. I mean she has enough people aware of her that this diss track blew tf up enough to warrant a response from nicki's people stating there weren't going to respond (...tf??) lol! It's not like she's some no-name internet blogger.. Remy has a fan base of her own.. nothing like Nicki's for sure, but she's been around longer than Nicki and most people would automatically give Remy the title of lyricist over than Nicki I think.. Nicki doesn't seem to write much, and it's shown when she doesn't have a team behind her.. Nicki is the Beyonce of hip-hop.. yea she's got the fans and the numbers and the hits, and she can do a helluva job at selling a song (as long as it wasn't written by her), but does she have the sole artistic caliber that her peers possess...? Naw, don't think so.. the fact that we're even having this discussion is proof in my book that Remy has made her point and made it well..
  5. I've never really liked Nicki.. I've always seen her as fake as a $3 bill since day one.. that said, she's def had some hits that have been caught in my head even more than I'd like to admit.. however, listening to Remy go HAM on her in this track was pure bliss for me.. and of course Nicki ain't gonna respond to her.... she sucks as a writer. Ever since Safaree left her plastic ass, her song quality has decreased over and over.. she's a joke now.. she got the attention she wanted in the beginning by competing with Gaga and Katy Perry over who could wear the crazier outfits, but now that they've moved on to actual legitimate success in their careers, Nicki has been stalling for quite some time now..
  6. Yes as far as I've heard since the HBO AFY Tour original airing, is that the mess-up did in fact happen.. but I don't believe that the AFY tour was broadcast live on HBO in real time.. I remember TVR Tour being broadcast live on HBO in 1998.. on screen it would periodically say "live from NY" during TVR tour HBO show.. but the AFY Tour was pre-recorded (by a day or two) and obviously they removed the failed beginning.. I'm just wondering if there was ever any actual footage of that.. I'm sure someone else on here can confirm that the screw up did actually happen ..
  7. Has there ever been any footage of the HBO AFY failed opening/intro where the huge white curtain got caught/stuck while it was being pulled up to reveal Janet high up on the platform? I was always under the impression that it happened live on HBO and that they had to restart the whole show on live TV, but I'm sensing that the concert was actually pre-recorded (unlike the HBO VR tour special)..
  8. Wow that was awkward.. but glad moonlight won.. although Lion moved me more, Moonlight was an incredible film.. I really felt as the viewer of Moonlight like we were intruding almost on someone's deeply personal interactions and that made it all the more real.. I can totally see why it got the Best Pic statue..
  9. Thanks again! and after watching this video again after quite a few years, what I'm left with is that this could've been more of a sci-fi heavier influenced video as Janet looks like she was straight out of Star Wars.. and also, the last minute or so when Janet and Nelly are singing in each other's faces is a little awkward.. the video was effects heavy up until that last minute and it just feels like a low budget video as opposed to the first part where it's very effects and color driven.. it's a boring ending I guess, and nelly does a shitty job at lip synching his parts in the last minute, like he's not even trying hardly.. anyways.. a decent video all around but could've been better.. also wish the live choreography was incorporated more throughout as well..
  10. ya know.. I'd really appreciate that! That's a nice fkn gesture.. my kid heard the song earlier in the car and when I told her it a video, she immediately wanted to watch it.. but I wouldn't show her until I find a clear quality video for it.. do you need my email? DeeEmAych13@gmail
  11. I cant seem to find a decent quality video of COM anywhere... Does anyone know where I can find a HQ/near-HD version?
  12. get yaself a personal pipe then.. just stuff it n smoke it... prolly similar to how yo weekends go
  13. I've been told by a few buddies that I should check out Shameless.. is it really that good? And is there really a ton of nudity...?!
  14. We watched Fences a couple days ago and while Denzel and Viola give amazing performances (really either one could win for acting) the movie felt so much like a stage play (it's an adaption from a play, of course).. So. Much. Dialogue. Pretty much exclusively dialogue. It's a well told story and does a decent job at pulling you in to what's happening on screen, but it's so slow in getting from point A to B, then from point B to point C, and so on.. but again, great acting all the way around! The guy who played Bubba in Forrest Gump has a prominent role as a mentally challenged brother to Denzel's character and is so great in it! I feel like this could've been at least 20 mins shorter and had a more flowing story arc overall, but still was glad to have seen it.
  15. I enjoyed DJ and what little greatness came of that era (SNL).. I did always think that All Nite was an odd single choice, thought JALW was promising, but right off the bat sounded way too poppy for my liking.. The fact that it had such a strong first week on radio (before being ripped out of every national playlist) was merely due to Janet's status at the time leading into that new era. IWY did moderately ok, but I always felt that My Baby would've charted better and warranted a better video.. I also felt Sexhibition would've been a decent performer on radio at the time, even if it ended up being the watered-down Walmart version lol..
  16. RWU did def flop... but I admit I liked it when it was released and still do.. the video was pretty cool too.. it came out before/around Ne-Yo's Closer and a lot of folks attributed the rise of the EDM/Electronic influence in recent pop songs to Closer (and BEP's I Gotta Feeling).. but I always felt like RWU should've been a bigger hit than it was(n't)..
  17. Supergirl has a lighter whimsical tone to the entire series, and that's intentional on the creators'/writers' part
  18. Last night my daughter and I watched "The Red Turtle".. it's one of the noms for best animated movie.. it's a dialogue-less film from France, about a man stranded on a deserted island in the middle of nowhere (a la Castaway).. it's produced by Studio Ghibli. It's absolutely beautiful.. my 8yo daughter said before the movie started that she thinks Moana is going to win the best animated oscar, and then once The Red Turtle was over and the credits were rolling (and with tears coming down her face), she turned to me and said she's not so sure about Moana's win anymore.. for the record, I still believe that Zootopia has the win on lock.. nicely made film all the way around, though. http://m.imdb.com/title/tt3666024/?ref=m_nv_sr_1
  19. Just saw LION last night... ...Best Picture winner for sure
