Sales =/= quality.. that’s been predetermined years ago. Not a contradiction but it doesn’t determine the quality of an album

Damita Jo as a whole is not a solid album. It had no real theme (sex and blah blah blah was an overkill at that time of her career). I’m ignoring the scandal and it doesn’t change the fact that DJ is a lower quality compared to her legacy including UNBREAKABLE. I’m going to love whatever she brings to the table but I will compare it

    Island Life is amazing

Undeniably the theme of DJ was a new love, and unlike the next two albums that followed it actually fit with where she was. The islands is where her & JD solidified what they had - Spending Time With You, Island Life, My Baby, Truly, I Want You.

JD introduced her to more confident sides of herself AND they got into strippers together - Damita Jo, Strawberry Bounce.

Thinking About My Ex was a wild card because she wanted to work with Babyface & had BEEN wanting to do so. Personally I love that song.

It’s not that the album didn’t have a theme it’s that you didn’t care for the theme.

My “opinion” isn’t just based on my own opinion.. it’s based on availabile data. You?

Don't nitpick my posts ? the No ones are the “fans” who say DS, JJ, Damita Jo, 20,and/or Discipline are/is their favorite album(s). Those fans cannot be trusted.

Yes she made classic music with J/T... Classic music that needs to continue (and will)

Damita Jo did much better in sales and sales only but sales =/= quality bc Damita Jo lacks quality (as a whole).

Wait you’re using facts and data but then the facts and data of - record sales are not being used to classify the album? You’re a constant contradiction. Also - YOU WANT this music to continue, MAYBE it will & maybe it won’t. I bet the next few tracks you get won’t be a continuation of that legacy. I bet that for sure.

Im not saying their music together wasn’t good - I’m saying DJ was a very solid album & is only discredited due to the surrounding scandal. Your dislike for it to me falls inline with the other mindless shit you say. If you’re not a fan of anything outside of Jimmy/Terry get prepared to be disappointed in what she drops next. It will in MANY ways be a departure from that you cling to so heavily.

But it has already happened boo. Island Life is a bop

And it happened live… which many never thought would be. Island Life is forever a vibe.

No no.. not a lot of fans... just few. Check the Spotify spins.. interludes are beating that shit song

Damita Jo album as a whole is not to par with any other album in her discography.. it is no one’s favorite and far below UNBREAKABLE it’s not even funny

L2L & Take Care were exclusively produced and written with Jimmy/Terry.. Island Life was co-produced by them too So you’re only reinforcing my point. The other song you named (Luv) is cool but basic and Janet didn’t write it and What Can I Say didn’t even make the album cut sooo ??‍♂️

Pharrell would give her what Ne-Yo gave her... rejected MJ garbage

    Critics > your opinion

Stop being unnecessary, dramatic & extra. Your opinion doesn’t outweigh anyone here. No one.

Who are the “no ones” that you speak of? Anyway, she made classic music with JJ/TL and some of the other music she made was excellent but undervalued. DJ did much better than Unbreakable has. Either way let’s see how the music plays out.

Giving them too much? They literally birth Janet Jackson and carried her career through the late 80s, 90s, and the new millennia.

None of the producers she worked with out side of the Legendary Duo has given Janet more. Not Darkchild, not JD, certainly not Ne-Yo who gave her MJ’s trash (focusing on 2008-2010). SloLove is another prime example. (It’s no one’s favorite)

Unbreakable is rated HIGHER by critics for a reason. That reason being Jimmy Jam & Terry. Lewis

A lot of fans love Slolove honestly. I think Jimmy & Terry gave Janet her signature sound. MOST big artists have producers they build signature sounds with. BUT imo Damita Jo was a great album. Also I think there are some solid Janet moments post Jimmy & Terry.

For example - Roll Witchu is in the top tracks from Janet for me. I like Luv, I liked Luv 2 Luv, Take Care, I like Thinking About My Ex, I like Island Life, I like What Can I Say. Actually a lot of those I love.

The only thing about some of the musical moves with Janet might be them (whoever the producer is) trying too hard to keep a Jackson sound instead of just making great music. Janet & Pharrell are looooong overdue. I am really interested to see how fans take the new music. Also Unbreakable was critically received but to me that can be taken with a grain of salt. Not saying the album wasn’t good it’s just critics...are not always giving an authentic opinion

    Don’t brag

    Thank goodness. Hopefully it’s Drake

It’s not a brag, you said you wanted information. That’s a response. Not only am I not bragging - I’ve been virtually silent. And for this reason exactly, but I’ll go back to that silence.

  6. I told you that June would be a great month, & @Game For Now I also said the intended person was not Gaga, back when people were claiming and believing Unbreakable would be called Conversations in a Cafe...I told everyone it wouldn’t be that. I even mentioned it would “probably” be Unbreakable. I remember you weren’t too excited because it sounded like some MJ title to you lol but I was also told - I’m not generally known to know anything lol but good things are coming for sure

  7. It’s a new era because the new music is made and prepped. You see her rehearsing for the summer festival tour that will then run into the new SOTW dates.

Also with a new tour there will be new merch. That’s just kinda how it goes.

See..I was thinking about this last night about how Randy acts like her publicist/PR person.  It doesn't sit well with me, regardless if you're family or not.  This was blown out of proportion and makes Janet look like she's out to get Wissam.  I wish they would mind their business so Janet can get through this and move on with her life.  She has a child to think about and Wissam is father..regardless of what him and Janet had going on..it ain't Eissus' fault and they need to love and support him.

Lol you better believe he is appointed to do exactly what he’s doing by Janet. And she’s right there with him when he does.

a moment for Janet ......I do believe in God and the power of prayer, and I pray that both she and her family continue to receive God's uplifting voice, courage, strength and perseverance. I believe a rising tide lifts all boats. I want Janet to find inner peace and a path in her life that is of her own design. We are all given choices to make in this short thing we call life, take time to reflect on what's in your best interests and move forward ....the rest is truly in God's hands

Absolutely & don’t allow the condescending lack of faith of others be a dagger at your beliefs. The most preach peace who tend to not believe in anything seem to always find ways to take shots at those who do.

Funny they say for other to respect the difference of others but then disrespect because their pompous ideology of being better because they have no faith in anything “outside themselves”.

Nonetheless, this reads drama surrounding the breakup & potentially a custody edge. I’m not buying the locked in the bathroom, drug addicted, raging Wissam. He could be on drugs, maybe, he could have a temper - maybe, but this sounds personal and I’ll leave it to them. I’m sure he cares about Eissa and he tends to have the same number of people watching him with Eissa as Janet tends to have with her.

A reliable insider on another forum is stating that new Janet music will be coming soon, and that fans will be surprised to see which other artist will be involved...

    The insider gave some hints:

    — the general public would probably expect this artist to work with “another legend” before working with Janet

—also, this artist is “arguably MORE famous than Bruno Mars”...

My guess is Lady Gaga, as I think most people would expect her to work with Madonna before collaborating with Janet

June will be a good month & the artist isn’t Lady Gaga but for sure it’s a woman.

  13. Loved everything about her speech. As a believer myself and working/knowing the industry they often try to make you compromise your beliefs. Everyone around the last 10 years started referring to the “Universe” - which is cool, but trust me it was a trend that the industry was collectively on.

Janet took the deep breath before she mentioned her faith because it’s often silenced. In a space where we talk about collective acceptance of love & difference of opinion, having a faith based perspective has become taboo & scrutinized. Good for Janet. One day fans will learn, you support someone who will always support God. It’s best to anticipate it anytime she speaks. That’s where she is in her life & always has been but even more so.

The performance was short & didn’t do her justice. The camera people were trash. The setlist was for fans & gives me hope that future set list will be diversified. Overall I thought it was GOOD but not amazing. I wish the dances that lead into throb - the slow parts were longer. In comparison to tour she kills it much more on tour. I felt there was more potential left on the stage.
