Rock & Roll Hall of Game
Just restore then it said restore backup and I did that and all my contacts were gone. I did this from iTunes if that helps. which back up did you select? They're still saved on your computer so try restoring from back up again but pick a new back up and what carrier are you? Rock & Roll Hall of Game
Noo... try this: Go to settings/icloud on your phone. Make sure you are logged with your apple id. Contacts should be on, click on it to turn it off and choose keep (even though you show no contacts) When the process is done go ahead and turn on contacts again, choose merge. All your contacts should show up if you had a previous backup to icloud.

ThatOtherFan
Look bro, it's not a smartphone if it's "first generation" so you can drop that tho I think it's pretty outdated compare to basically everyone else in the world, so that's why I call it a first generation smartphone. Selz
iTunes was being a dick - I spent 3 hours fucking about with that, backed up everything, downloaded 11.1 etc. etc., kept giving me error messages so I had to do it manually - FINALLY got to update to iOS7 and it gives me another bloody error message. I pulled my phone out of the laptop, and the laptop promptly hibernated So I plugged the phone into the electric socket and downloaded it from General Settings. And went to sleep. When I woke up it was done and fine. No problems with it, quite like it BUT I don't see why it needed to be changed. It's not really got anything we couldn't have survived without. I hope they don't bring out iOS8 before I upgrade my phone though.
