janetDAYZ
Is Garth Brooks the KING (or who)? Is Shania the QUEEN? or is it Dolly Parton? Thoughts?
vaquero
are you that bored today The king of country music is George Strait as for the queen I would say its between Dolly and Shania
henrietta.
George Strait is often called it and is considered a living legend, but he rarely wrote his own stuff. Roy Acuff is the King of Country. And some even call Garth Brooks the KOC. Kitty Wells is the Queen of Country followed by Dolly.

Mr. Wonder
I heard Dolly Parton thrown around most commonly. As for king probably George Strait.

I remember having a discussion about the K&QOC on a country board I use to go on. I think folks call George KOC because he has/had (probably still has) the most #1 hits in the genre. Kim
The King is Garth Brooks. The Queen is Dolly. Even the Queens in waiting, Reba and Shania, have always stated that Dolly is their idol. That alone settles the question of who is the true Queen.
