Never in the history of this country has the president asked to speak to Congress and been told "no, that day doesn't work for us." That's hugely embarrassing for him. Personally, I like Obama and think he's a smart guy. But there have been some really amateur bungles made by the administration, which I think is probably reflective of the lack of experience Obama had upon entering office. However; he doesn't know to negotiate if his life depended on it. He has a lot of the right plans and ideas, but he doesn't know how to execute them as he lacks the panache, gravitas, and negotiation tactics to see them through. He's not the first president to meet resistance. The good ones navigate. The problem was that he spent most of his time capitulating to their demands. He doesn't know how to negotiate. Just like with the Debt Deal negotiations. There were reports that he told the Republicans not to call his bluff. Guess what? They did and he lost... again. With healthcare reform, he spoke out wayyyyyyyyyyyy too late and by then public opinion was swayed by a bunch of nuts. He's too slow to action and he lacks the fire in his belly at times. At this point, I'd rather take the angry black man than what I have now, because it's not working. We're on the verge of ANOTHER recession. Unemployment for black people is the highest it's been since 1984. Maybe he should find some of the passion he had when he was campaigning because it's not even evident in his speeches anymore. Fear of people saying "See, I told you so!" isn't a good excuse, because he has already been labeled a socialist/Marxist/terrorist/illegal alien/Muslim etc. So what's another label even if it results in things getting done?
