I must say I am disappointed, it's almost award season where are the standouts? I did a search and they list the top movies by gross, now of this list most are super hero movies, I never saw....so people let's come up with a forum list of our favs.

1 Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2

2 Transformers: Dark of the Moon

3 Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides

4 Kung Fu Panda 2 DreamWorks Animation

5 Fast Five Universal Pictures

6 The Hangover Part II Warner Bros.

7 The Smurfs Columbia Pictures

8 Cars 2 Walt Disney Pictures / Pixar

9 Rio 20th Century Fox / Blue Sky

10 Rise of the Planet of the Apes

Not really award worthy but they were great movies.

I would also add The Help and Immortals.

The Help will be taking home a lot of awards.

Okay that's what I am trying to get at, where are the award movies? I enjoy those more, like "No Country for Old Men" "Precious" "The Help" I don't think I have seen any of the movies you highlighted. Not because I don't care Im busy with school stuff, BUT those movies I would not run out and must see, "The Help" was the only must see I can think of.

1. Bridesmaids.

2. Melancholia.

3. The Help.

4. Water for Elephants.

5. Contagion.

And maybe J. Edgar, I still need to see it. Otherwise, that's all I can think of; very lackluster year for film. However, The Iron Lady, Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, and We Bought a Zoo come out next month. They will all be fantastic, I'm sure.

And Planet of the Apes was just okay.

you're thinking like I do about film, I don't really do blockbuster, I want substance. I have not seen Bridesmaids but I heard it was good and it is on a lot of lists of the year's best. I was listening to NPR and they had an interview with a scientist they consulted for "Contagion" the idea was to make it as real as possible.
