One can be a legend within their own genre of music. Teena may not have had mainstream success but within the R&B world she is indeed a legend. People were citing her as an influence for years now. Just because YOU aren't familiar with her work doesn't mean she isn't well respected and cherished. You need to stop now.

That is the difference between a vocalist and a SONGSTRESS. A vocalist can have a good voice, but a songstress can tell a great story with their voice. I prefer a songstress.

"Angel in disguise" is probably one of the best songs that was never released. I can't think of any of her peers at the time who could have sung/sold that song better. Her voice gives me life.

Xtina can sing, but Lisa Stansfield would be a better choice. Vocally Lisa's voice is more seductive like Teena's was. Plus Lisa is more rooted in R&B like Teena. They had more in common musically. Xtina is really more of a pop artist.

She's a british singer from the 60s. She sang a couple of James Bond theme songs. Most famous being "Diamnds are forever" which Kanye samples for "diamonds from sierra leon" She has a good voice. Very dramatic.

Donna is so underrated its crazy. Patti has said herself in interviews that Donna is vocally amazing and very underrated. A lot of it has to do with the fact that she stop making music and performing for like a decade so many people fogot about her.

This basically sums it up. I can only go by recent performances and recently these three have been slaying. Babs killed "the way we were" on Oprah last month. Tina sounds good as well, but if you youtube Gladys, Babs or Donna you will see they still sound damn near the same. Chaka's recent performances have not been good. Neither have Miss Ross's. And she's actually my fave on that list. Aretha sounded good when she sang for obama in 08, but not as good as she did in her prime.

I love Pink, but that house is overpriced. It is what it is. She could have spent that same price and got a bigger house in the valley, westwood or brentwood. But those neiborhoods aren't as secluded as Malibu. So I understand why she did it.
