I'll say this.. I think I actually liked Feedback a tad bit more BEFORE I saw the video... Until the dancers come in, the video is rather boring (although I do like the lighting and effects).. And the premise is like huh.? i liked my video I made for it a little more than the real thing.. but the new Unbreakable Tour mix of it is fiiire!!

yea really! I think that's why it made me notice yours especially... Although we didn't get to go backstage and talk to her face to face, but it was still incredible.. My kid still talks about it to this day!

What an interesting way to look at it.. that thought has crossed my mind before as well.. MJ was her main competition I believe in her own mind..

1990: I was huge MJ fan.. The TV was on MTV and the Rhythm Nation video came on.. My mom turned to me and said "ooh let's watch this, she's Michael Jackson's little sister." I was like "really?!" and then we watched it and I was amazed, to say the least.. She was like a female MJ! lol.. I didn't really keep up with her too much, although I would listen to my sister's "janet." cassette occasionally (This Time was doope).. Then on my birthday in 1996, I received a CD player from my grandma and 2 CD's! (Weird Al's "Bad Hair Day" and Janet's "Design of a Decade").. DOAD pretty much made me a fan of her artistry and music from there on out.. Got to see her in concert for the first time last October in SF. We met Gil and my daughter took a pic with him.. Got upgraded to front row seats, thanks to Joey, and during Janet's closing statements and introductions, she noticed my daughter on my shoulders and waved and spoke to us from the stage!

thanks Jarry for your well-thought out response.. i see your point... but I don't agree with it.. in fact I think you're helping me prove my point.. The fact that she has never done any kind of "stunt" on live TV before doesn't mean that she would never have done a stunt like that.. The reality is that she did pull a stunt on the SB.. Again, like I said, even if the true intentions were for her to NOT show her breast, just the image of her allowing a man to rip anything off of her body in the breast area would be considered a "stunt"... Therefore, at that moment in time, she was DAMN SURE the type of artist to pull a stunt like that (just like Madonna, Prince, etc)... i believe one of the major reasons why she received as much backlash as she did, was the fact that people never imagined she could've been the type of artist to pull a stunt like that.. She was always known as the sane Jackson family member.. again, consider the timeframe when the SB happened.. It was months after the Madonna/Britney kiss and the fact that the SB was produced by MTV adds credence to the idea that she was looking to go even wilder than Madonna.. Hell, MTV (and Gil!) even advertised online that fans were in for a "shock" days before the SB took place.. What was going to be shocking?? A bra..? nope! Her tit! Add onto that the fact that she wore her biggest nipple shield, the lyrics stated Justin was going to have her "naked by the end of this song", there was no other red/black bra underneath, she stood frozen as he ripped off her breast cup (cuz it was planned).. It all adds up to a stunt.. because it was..
