  1. A lot of good stuff in here! Can't wait to hear the extra 40 minutes of material. I like that they talked about her vocals, harmonies and backgrounds and production of the music itself. I knew that The Knowledge was in scream but I didn't know about In The Closet. The doc had a great mix of known clips and new info and that filled in gaps and tied up some loose ends. Didnt we have a thread on her vocals already? Probably wasn't too extensive but I love talking about her vocals either way so I'm up for it . As far as the Whitney comment, I don't think she was seriously discouraged or anything like that. I also think people have to remember that back when she said that (1988-89) large, powerful voices were the standard; especially black females in particular. Whitney pushed that standard even higher. Janet still got praised for her emotive abilities and vocals rulings from singers at the time and I think that's what the major take away from the CBTM segment was
  2. She probably would have performed it the same way she has been the last few tours so I'm glad she left it out. Especially if it meant other songs got a chance to be performed. If it got a routine again like on the RN and Janet tours then that would be a different story. Sad to say that because I love the song and seeing her perform it too
  3. It sounds like it's supposed to be a compilation of his occult and paranoia themed songs to be a "Halloween album". Not sure if this tracklist is final thoguh 1."This Place Hotel (a.k.a. 4. All my favs of DJ made the setlist AND Could This Be love was played!! FINALLY got Twenty Foreplay live! The slow jam and ballad section was amazing! Too much to talk about right now and I wasn't even there
  5. The songs she's pulling out tho!!! OMG She is smoking hot right now too!!
  6. I hope you guys seeing her tonight enjoy her with fresh eyes and just enjoy the night!! The first group will get the finest blessing!
  7. Living in a World (They Didn't Make) You Free Xone Special Velvet Rope Dream Maker/Euphoria and to a lesser extent: Black Cat, Together Again, Lately/Nasty maybe
  8. I guess because her voice has changed so much over the years it can be hard to tell. I would love to hear see the whole project though!
  9. Janet is a storyteller so starting other than Control (or a Greatest Hits) might hinder the experience. Those were the biggest hits from the album there so that makes sense. You've probably recognize of her 90s hits like That's The Way Love Goes or Together Again and others. Design of a Decade is a nice sampler especially since the international version has a couple more tracks. ( Whoops Now and Best Things...)
  10. Start with Control then continue in chronological order. You'd definitely enjoy Rhythm Nation 1814 (the next album) if you like Bad and Dangerous. Her vocal styling differs from album to album but Control is still a good intro.
  11. At least it's not Randy or Gil this time . It must be interesting seeing the baby of the family finally have a baby
  12. Its officially Beyday! Happy 36th Birthday Beyoncé!
  13. She stopped herself twice ! I cant blame her though because the song was always a favorite! If she has home movies I would watch them

  15. I'm glad she made the list and and as high as she did (and doing it with Control!). Jan's other albums can continue to seethe Though I do think she should have one more album in there. However, appearing @ 17( out of 150) with an album she made when she was 19 is plenty. Not to mention the albums Control was placed ahead of. Janet stans should be proud.
  16. There's also her Planet Groove interview in 1997 or 1998
  17. " I've been in this game for 20 years... Plus. Where they are and where they're going I've already been..." She was lighting him up throughout that interview. Before that she was telling him to get some Q-tips
  18. That was adorable! I like watching these from her . September 7th is the first day!
  19. I remember the TTWLG had 12mil+ And the AFY with 10mil+ years ago. It shouldn't take much time to put them up either. I bet those same people wonder why her songs and videos are unknown or forgotten. That unbothered persona of hers doesn't help with the issue either.
  20. Great write up! Not to mention this was her first single after she separated from Lotoya's backup dancer
  21. The tweets from them during that time corroborated with that text though even if that screenshot was fake. As for what's happening now, Jan is obviously well so...
  22. She has even said herself overseas fans loved the album and that the controversy over it was minimal in those territories. The singles did better as well. Should have been like MJ in the 90s and skip over the US until people got their act together.
