  1. They also filmed Janet's surprise bday party the dancers threw for her and they filmed when Janet and Ciara went Disney World together with their kids.
  2. Much as i was the janet tour in my collection..i dont think we're going to get it. We're juss gonna have to be satisfied w/ the bootleg versions on youtube. At this point im more worried about the netflix doc. Remember she had cameras following her last year? Janet PLEASE dont tell me that has been canned.
  3. I understand budget and all of that but I dont believe a label has a final set budget of how much they are gonna spend on the entire project before the album drops. They probably have an idea and/or a ballpark figure of how much they want to invest but I doubt they stick to that ballpark figure. I believe once a project is released...they wing it to see how much more they can sell and how much more they should invest..im sure they weigh out the pros and cons to stay out of the red. Dont get me wrong im not saying Mariah didnt have an affect on the A4U era...but im juss saying this board has a history of speculating which turns into being the GOSPEL TRUTH w/o any reliable receipts to support the speculations on here. Im more on the fence with ANYTHING i dont have proof of. The business aspects of the music industry has so many twists and turns and shit that wouldnt make sense to common folk. For me, until i actually hear Mariah being a direct reason as to why the A4U era came to an early end, im not gonna blame it on Mariah's arrival. It could be a ton of other politics that have nothing at all to do with Mariah.
  4. I know for some time this board has committed to the idea of speculating that Janet was affected directly and/or indirectly by Mariah coming on board to Virgin with that big payout and all that but the only thing that makes me sort of question that is bc Janet at that time was still EXTREMELY bankable...i mean A4U was the fastest selling album of her WHOLE career and was the biggest hit straight out the gate (in terms of first week sales) -not to mention A4U (the song) going on to become the biggest hit and longest running #1 song of 2001 and STCML peaking at #3.. Which would lead me to believe putting more money into Janet shouldnt have been a problem cus they were defintely gonna see a bankable return on their investment. Janet was hotter than fish grease in 2001. So i dont kno if i completely buy into this whole idea of ..."Oh Mariah is here!!!...move out the way all you other artists on our roster..the queen of the charts is in the building so she will be getting all of you alls promotion money and btw the rest of you dont mean nothing now" scenario that is painted in regards to this situation. Now it would be MORE believable if Janet was doing moderate saleswise at that time. For instance if TVR album came out in 2001...i then could see Virgin falling back a bit on financing promo and setting their sights on Mariah's arrival but since A4U was a HUGE era from the day it hit the consumers....i juss dont know about Mariah affecting her.
  5. And I had always wondered why some of the footage clips of the intro showed her just standing on top of the screen but not being lowered down. I had juss assumed it was a tech problem cus i know how sometimes props wont work during a show. Every tour runs into those problems
  6. It use to be my FAV Janet tour cus of the intro alone. I still feel that is the BEST intro she has ever done it had that larger than life megastar type of quality and i lowkey wish she would replicate that same type of over the top intro but in a different way. The thing I think is unique about this tour is ..the look of the staging and costumes. The album was sexy and that tour followed suit. She had this sassy sexy attitude that juss oozed that she knew she was a BAD BITCH that i LOVEDDDDDDDDDDDDDD. If we could say Janet ever had a "cocky" moment...i would mos def say that tour was it. She juss knew she was THAT BITCH. The choreo was decent...but overal its still my favorite "look" for a tour out of all her tours. The ONLY downfall was the corny ass cat woman catsuit costumes for "Black Cat" i am so glad Janet realized to not make that a choreo/theatrical number for that song..cus it doesnt need dancers. Juss her and that guitar upfront
  7. I notice we havent really talked about the janet. tour much. In comparison to her other tours..where do u rank it? What is your overall opinion about this tour? Her stage presence, choreo, stage etc.
  8. Jay-Z’s music service Tidal is reportedly under criminal investigation for faking stream numbers for Beyonce and Kanye West’s albums Lemonade and The Life Of Pablo. The company is being investigated by the Norwegian police’s economic crime unit, Okokrim. The chief public prosecutor Elisabeth Harbo-Lervik confirmed the news in an interview, according to the Dagens Naeringsliv (DN) newspaper, The Telegraph reported. The paper claimed in May that it had obtained database information on album streaming figures, writing that there was evidence of at least 320 million fake streams being registered. DN stated, according to Music Business Worldwide: “Beyonce and Kanye West’s listener numbers on Tidal have been manipulated to the tune of several hundred million false plays… which has generated massive royalty payouts at the expense of other artists.” A spokesperson for Okokrim confirmed the investigation on Monday, The Telegraph added, but Tidal continued to deny the fake stream reports. They said in a statement obtained by ET Canada, “Tidal is not a suspect in the underlying investigation. We are communicating with Okokrim.” “From the very beginning, DN has quoted documents that they have not shared with us in spite of repeated requests. DN has repeatedly made claims based on information we believe may be falsified.” Tidal has also hired a cybersecurity business to investigate possible theft of user data, with the spokesman adding: “We are aware that at least one person we suspected of theft has been questioned.” “We cannot comment further at this time and refer to our previous statement, which still stands.” The previous statement read: “We reject and deny the claims that have been made by Dagens Naeringsliv. Although we do not typically comment on stories we believe to be false, we feel it is important to make sure that our artists, employees, and subscribers know that we are not taking the security and integrity of our data lightly, and we will not back down from our commitment to them.” “When we learned of a potential data breach we immediately, and aggressively, began pursuing multiple avenues available to uncover what occurred. This included reporting it to proper authorities, pursuing legal action, and proactively taking steps to further strengthen our stringent security measures that are already in place.” “Additionally, we have engaged an independent, third party cyber-security firm to conduct a review of what happened and help us further protect the security and integrity of our data. We are proud of the hard work, devotion to our artist driven mission, and tremendous accomplishments of our over one hundred employees in Norway and fifty more in the United States. We look forward to sharing with them, and all of our partners, the results of the review once completed.” Harbo-Lervik added to DN: “Tidal has previously stated it considers itself insulted by DN’s allegations. It should have a vested interest in getting information on the table that would tell us anything about a possible manipulation. We’re still waiting for them to offer this information.” © ETCanada.com, 2019
  9. I see members heated n bothered along w/ bandwagon hopping.. Im so so shocked. Thats my cue✌
  10. An interview Ive never seen before.. Let me not call it "RARE" since Norman seems to have seen and/or heard every single clip, piece or snippet of Janet's recording career. He must have some inside connection with Janet's camp. Who knew?! Anyway..this was an interesting interview
  11. Wtf. He juss released an album.. The others make sense
  12. Oh really? And when did you see it for the first time? Let me guess ..10 years ago or something ? Igga Please! The whole Janet community is calling this clip RARE..even from the reaction in this thread displays a first time viewing of it..how odd that youre the only one saying its not rare. Again. Igga Please!
  13. Why am I not surprised this same member comes into a thread and has to ALWAYS play the role of the opposer? Its like a gimmick. The Darth Vader comes in to disagree with everyone to drum up debatable dialogue juss becus. Reminds me alot of Norman but more annoying. Not interested
  14. Did any of yall catch that Paula was too early on a part and Janet was right on time? How is the socalled "student" hitting the points better than you?
  15. Ive already tried to find it but never could. It was highly publicized in the media when Xscape reunited last year cus no one ever thought they would. I seen reports of it being sold out tour even Xscape themselves said they were surprised they were selling out arenas cus they said they never had headlined back in their glory days.
  16. I think he thought juss cus Xscape had a successful reunion tour selling out arenas (which i was surprised about) ...he thought since they were an act under him from back in the day...it would help sell tickets with them being apart of this reunion. But Xscape juss wrapped up two legs here in the states, why would ppl wanna go see them a 3rd time around? SoSo Def was never as BIG as Bad Boy artists.. They were like the poor man's version of Bad Boy... They had hits but they dont carry a legacy.
  17. His target for an audience is not for the younger generation anyway tf. Anytime a "reunion" or "anniversary" tour is put together..its for the crowd that grew up in that era. What JD was tryna put together for this tour was no different than Diddy putting the Bad Boy Reunion tour together a couple years ago. Its for the nostalgic experience for an "older" crowd
  18. Its not and its annoying af...especially since thats her last well known hit song and video that the younger generation knows by Janet and older crowd loves.
  19. Some of yall are reachingggggggggggggggggg .....somebody needs to grab yall devices and take em away cus..
  20. Most of the dates on the long-awaited So So Def 25th Anniversary Tour have been cancelled, and fans are mystified as to what happened. The concert tour was set to begin in Washington, D.C., on Oct. 14. Fans were getting geeked that they would once again see the likes of Xscape, Anthony Hamilton, Da Brat and Jagged Edge, among others, until Jermaine Dupri, the founder of the Atlanta-based record label, tweeted the following: “To all my fans, I know what I’m bout to say is gonna create a very very big [flame emoji] but due to my schedule and creative changes I don’t feel comfortable starting this tour on the 14th, I honestly believe I need another week to get this to where I want it to be.” Some fans are outraged because Dupri did not make an announcement in advance to let ticket-paying customers know they would no longer appear in many of the cities on the tour. However, according to SandraRose.com, industry insiders are whispering that the postponement of many dates emanated from a lack of fan interest. StraightFromTheA.com questions the authenticity of JD’s Twitter explanation that he “didn’t feel comfortable” starting the tour at the predetermined time because of scheduling conflicts and also insinuates a possible issue with lagging ticket sales. A post on the website of the Staples Center in Los Angeles broke the news to fans this way: “Jermaine Dupri has announced that in order to give his fans the show they deserve for the So So Def 25th Anniversary tour, he needs more time to properly produce his vision. Because of the additional time needed, the first and only confirmed date for the tour at this time is on Sunday, October 21st ‐ State Farm Arena in Atlanta, GA. Due to this change in the advertised tour schedule, for the time being, the other remaining dates scheduled for the tour have been cancelled until further notice, including the show at STAPLES Center on November 2, 2018.” StraightFromTheA.com wrote that a Ticketmaster search revealed that most of the dates have been cancelled, sans Atlanta and Los Angeles. No word yet on how long the other dates will be postponed, or if they will be resurrected at all. Fans who did buy tickets to the tour took to social media to complain over the weekend. “He could have rescheduled the dates for a later time and let the tickets that were already purchased, still be good for the new date,” one fan said on Twitter. Another fan added: “It’s f–ked up tho [sic] that JD didn’t say something about the tour being canceled or nothing. We as supporters should have been informed.” Even “Growing Up Hip Hop” producer Bow Wow, a So So Def artist back in the 1990s, took to Instagram to help clarify the confusion, but to little avail. https://rollingout-com.cdn.ampproject.org/v/s/rollingout.com/2018/10/09/so-so-canceled-so-so-def-tour-dates-canceled-due-to-low-ticket-sales/amp/?amp_js_v=a2&amp_gsa=1&usqp=mq331AQECAFYAQ%3D%3D#referrer=https://www.google.com&aoh=15457105982031&amp_ct=1545710616300&amp_tf=From %1%24s
  21. Thats wtf im saying. The entertainment industry is weird. They literally will work now and recieve payment later... Fuckkkk that! I guess us everyday avg ppl will never understand that...cus if its no check received we're not working
  22. YOU ARE THE LABEL.(minus paying her) POINT.BLANK.PERIOD. Her recent life experiences do not in ANYWAY justify putting out an album if shes not moved to. You are on both sides of the fence, not making any sense. Norman "Yes, Janet you're not sure but go ahead and put out an album cus you got a divorce and a child" You literally sound like a fuckin label. Tf?please sit all the way down. When Janet is ready to share we will get a QUALITY album for sure. Not sum "unsure" ass project from random songs thats been laying around piling up like dirty laundry.
  23. TF?!!!!!! Who the hell are you to tell Janet she should release an album juss cus she got a divorce and a child now? If she is not MOVED to share either of those enough put out an album that still falls under the category of putting out an album JUSS BECAUSE ....that is extremely retarted wtf you juss said. If an artist is unsure to put out an album..then AN ALBUM SHOULD NOT COME OUT PERIOD ..TF And this is coming from a man who juss said 3 albums were released cus labels wanted her to.... But Norman aka a fan wants Janet to release an album juss because she has some songs and she has got a divorce. You sound like the labels you spoke of see how retarted you sound? You ARE the label in this discussion!! "Look in the mirror my friend" ...Good day. Cancelled
