bu.
Can you remember? I can't remember mine. I was born in the year of Rhythm Nation so she was always there in my childhood. I vividly remember her music videos playing all the time on The Box and MTV and on the radio too. But in terms of the first memory - I can't remember at all. I vaguely feel like it's TTWLG related on my 4th birthday but I can't be too sure.
janetDAYZ
When i was 3yrs old ...seen WHYDFML .. I Literally remember that era even at that young age becus i remember thinking she was a pretty woman who was "moving" ,...my young mind didnt grasp the concept of what she was doin was dancing. I was juss fascinated by her.. and also i remeber the album cover vividly becus my grandmother had the album on vinyl...and i use to see it all the time. My grandmother LOVEDDDDDDDDD The Control album ...would play it loud as fuck.. every since then... i paid attention to everything Janet did. She was my 2nd introduction to music after Tina Turner ..thats when i discovered what "music" was
hotboy06
The Control album/When I Think Of You. I remember walking down the dirt roads dancing and singing to her songs..watching her videos and trying to learn the dance moves. She was so sassy and a bad ass.. I knew she was the one. DarkStormSC
I remember watching the control album vids. I had to have been around 4 (my older sister was a big fan). Miss you much is when I latched on, dancing on chairs in the living room.

Unbreakable.
Reading about the SB wardrobe malfunction in the newspaper. But I'm a little younger than some of you and didn't become a fan until "20 Y.O".
Jodienda76
My brother had her "Control" tape. I used to listen to it non stop. Her "Pleasure Principle" song and video gave me life. I was hooked from there on. I listened to that tape so damned much, I had to keep a pencil handy to ravel the damned tape back in place. BlackCat77
My earliest memory was around the time Together Again was really popular and vaguely remember Go Deep. I was like 2 or something though so I only remember hearing the songs and the album cover. I remember more from All for You and afterwards because I remember radio and my mom blasting the songs and album. She was a big fan of Janet
vaquero
I was in a pageant back in 1987. I was 5 going on 6. The song they used for the sportswear portion was When I Think Of You. I remember just loving that song.. After awhile, everytime I heard that song, I would stop what I was doing and do my pageant walk
RedSimba
The janet. era was my very first memory; I didn't even started kindergarten yet. Hearing TTWLG on the radio made me a fan instantly; I remember the specific location I heard it too. Then after hearing "If," "Again," "Where Are You Now" etc. sealed the deal.
