The 2011 MTV VMA will air tomorrow at 9pm ET and will feature some of the brightest young stars in entertainment. However, before all of the action gets underway, we've decided to take a look back some of the greatest performances to ever rock the iconic stage.

Check out our rundown of the best MTV VMA performances of all time below:

5. Madonna - "Vogue"

Long before we were introduced to Lady GaGa the original Queen of Pop, Madonna, ruled the music scene. The icon crossed boundaries with her monster hit "Vogue" and took things one step further with the subtle scandal of her 1990 performance of the song.

4. Beyonce - "Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)"

This 2009 Beyonce performance of "Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)" happened barely two years ago but it has already made a mark in the history books. Regarded by many as the moment when she ascended to icon status, the young diva left her peers in awe as she sang live and danced for over 5 minutes without missing a step.

Of course, what list would be complete without an appearance from Janet Jackson? Flanked by her troop of dancers, the living legend moved effortlessly across the stage in 2000 as she executed her signature complex footwork to "Doesn't Really Matter".

2. Lady GaGa - "Paparazzi"

Lady GaGa had already achieved great success on the charts by 2009 but this performance of "Paparazzi" is widely regarded as her breakthrough moment. The Pop sensation brought musical theatre to MTV and literally left blood on the dance floor.

As usual, there is no beating the King at his own game. Michael Jackson performed six songs - "Scream", "Beat It", "Black or White", "Billie Jean", "Dangerous", "Smooth Criminal" - back to back at the 1995 show and reminded everybody why he was and shall forever be the King of Pop.

2. Great performance, but not better that Jan's.

1. First time seeing it. It was cool I guess....Jan's "I Know You Want Me" & "Get The Point?..." lines>>>>>
