Shit was cheaper in the 90s and prior and the only way you can compare prices of merchandise, box office, etc is by calculating the rate of inflation For example, if you watch Mad Men or any show from that era.. And they say "the project is costing us $12000".. There are websites and a math equation to equate that to modern time. $12k in the 1960s is NOT the same as $12k in 2014 That being said, Janet's janet. We used MJ's receipts to drag her, but we could have easily dragged her with Janet's tour receipts too. Janet's 1st three tours (with inflation applied) were more successful. Beyonce and her team could've pushed her receipts and made just as much noise without being fraudulent.... but hey, this is Beyonce is we're talking about... Janet sold 2.3 millon tickets on the RN tour (she played 117 shows... in comparison Beyonce had to do 126 shows to sell 1.8 million tickets). The tour grossed: $76,115,000 worldwide The avg ticket price was about: $33 Multiply 2.3 million tickets at $33 you get a figure close to what the RN tour grossed.
