The “Party” hit-maker paid homage to her First Lady Michelle Obama via an open letter posted to her newly-minted Tumblr account on Thursday. Beyonce praises Mrs. O for her achievements in business and for being ”humble, loving and sincere. The “Halo” singer also credits herself proud that her own daughter, three-month-old Blue Ivy, will find mentors in women like the First Lady. In the handwritten note, Beyonce writes: “Michelle is the ULTIMATE example of a truly strong African American woman. No matter the pressure and the stress of being under the microscope — she’s humble, loving, and sincere. The New York chapter of the National Association of Black Journalists will award Beyonce the first-place prize in arts and entertainment in its magazine category for a story she wrote for Essence magazine. The first-person piece was titled "Eat, Play, Love" and appeared in the magazine's July 2011 issue.
