:umm:

It's Janet's third most important chart behind the Hot 100 and R&B. Nothing to be hell bent over. Plus Janet's span four decades.

Beyonce Pens Open Letter To Michelle Obama

She’s pretty iconic in her own right, but even Beyonce Knowles Carter has an idol.

The “Party” hit-maker paid homage to her First Lady Michelle Obama via an open letter posted to her newly-minted Tumblr account on Thursday. Beyonce praises Mrs. O for her achievements in business and for being ”humble, loving and sincere.

The “Halo” singer also credits herself proud that her own daughter, three-month-old Blue Ivy, will find mentors in women like the First Lady. In the handwritten note, Beyonce writes:

“Michelle is the ULTIMATE example of a truly strong African American woman. No matter the pressure and the stress of being under the microscope — she’s humble, loving, and sincere. Michelle, thank you so much for every single thing that that u do for us — I am proud to have my daughter grow up in a world where she has people like you to look up to.”

Beyonce lent her 2008 dance anthem “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)” to the First Lady’s “Let’s Move” youth fitness campaign.

Beyonce To Receive Journalism Award

Beyonce is accustomed to getting awards for writing songs, but now she's earned one for writing a magazine piece.

The New York chapter of the National Association of Black Journalists will award Beyonce the first-place prize in arts and entertainment in its magazine category for a story she wrote for Essence magazine.

The first-person piece was titled "Eat, Play, Love" and appeared in the magazine's July 2011 issue. In it, the Grammy winner talks about how taking a break from music changed her life.
