What? :mellow::wacko:

The critics dragged MJ by his lacefront in 2001 over the trash that is Invincible. :lmao: and these same critics are the ones that rate most of his songs as some of the best Pop music in history so let's not with the victim card.

The rest of mess you wrote is giving me ThatOtherThing teas. :sigh:

critics dragged Michael Jackson, the man, the image...and that bias influenced the reviews.

Post full reviews, not just excerpts and it PLAINLY obvious that most of those reviews (if not all) spend 85% of the review critiquing the man, his image, and NOT the actual music.

The bias literally jumps out at you.

Hell, it's obvious in most of those excerpts the critics centered more so on "Michael Jackson" and not the music.

Gerl you got the receipts. Go through the reviews and look them up yourself. :coffee:

You guys are delusional as hell. It doesn't even matter because Aaliyah wins this poll. Y'all could argue all day but the truth is right there. :coffee:

Aaliyah >>>>>> Invincible

NOT over "Heaven Can Wait"

I rarely..and I do mean rarely hear ppl speak on Threatened ...

That's because you're not talking to real fans of the album. :coffee: The MJ fans I know live for BOD and Threatened. Another one really loves "Speechless".

They always critique Michael HIMSELF. Not his music. They skip over the songs and the messages and look at it with the eyes of "Ooo Michael Jackson singing about sex" or "Michael jackson talking about kids". THOSE reviews, depending on the person, may make it sound creepy. If you keep the lyrics and sounds in CONTEXT, then you see the album was amazing. OF COURSE it wasn't the best he had to offer. That's damn obvious. But let's not give Michael his credit for this album. Especially after all the bullshit he had to deal with in the 90s PLUS the horrible promo.

Plus, look. I know you guys don't really care for him, but he's the closest I have to real family right now. So please, take the name calling for ThatOtherFan somewhere else. I don't wanna hear it. I needed a big brother, family, and he stepped in. Like him or not, unless I'm truly hurt, I'm gonna be there for him. So please. Ditch the name calling. At least while I'm in the thread. :sigh:

Critics who reviewed the album (for the most part) were/are EXTREMELY BIAS. In that they don't judge the music itself, and compare it to Thriller...or spend the entire review talking about his image and his life.

I remember reading one reviewer saying "Break Of Dawn" was "creepy" since basically Michael was singing about sex/an intimate relationship...and it was "creepy" to hear Michael Jackson sing about that.

Whether you agree with that or not, what the hell does that have to do with critiquing the actual song!?!

SIT DOWNE.

Always bringing up the victim card when it comes to MJ.

Were these critics being biased when they ranked Thriller, Bad and Dangerous as some of the best Pop music? Were they being biased when they had MJ perched on the top of 'The greatest performers/artists of all time' lists? Again, sit down.

That reviewer is right. Break Of Dawn is CREEPY. He was trying to give smooth suave R&B teas and failed. FYI, MJ will never live down the legal woes in his personal life so it will always be brought up... whether you like it or not.

I'm not here for the pity games and victim cards. Janet didn't get a pity award for The Superbowl. Prince has released crap album after crap album but he doesn't get a pity award. Madonna's Stale Candy didn't get a victim card because she was aging. I'm sorry, Michael Jackson will not be excused because he was a victim. :coffee:

YOU posted those excerpts...I've already read most of those reviews in 2001 during the actual release of VINCE (YES...VINCE :excited: :excited: :excited: ). It is you who needs to provide receipts...Prove me wrong. I'll wait. :coffee:

I didn't comment on the Aaliyah album or who was winning the poll, etc. This all started because jbailey made a comment about VINCE (there it is again :yahoo: ) having 5 votes. I said he was mad..and thus began the convo. Bringing us where we are now.

Stop with the pity "Why MJ? Why MJ?" crap! and read the quotes Miss Enjoi posted. They critiqued the album for what it is.

and I really can't with you guys trying to shun these reviews. Especially, Rolling Stone. If it were praise towards your faves y'all would be all over it. :sigh: So let's not act like they don't matter.

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: at the bold. It's really not that serious.

And actually most of the reviews critique the music on Invincible. http://www.metacritic.com/music/invincible/critic-reviews

The album just isn't that good. It's just a mash up of his previous albums, Dangerous being the most prevalent.

The reviews Miss Enjoi brought up focused on Michael himself. I agree that Invincible was not his best. Not even close. But it was a great album, regardless.

It has its moments. But halfway through the album it really loses steam. -_-

I don't see any full reviews.

The focus of most reviews then centered around his image, controversies, and past sells (whether he could live up to it or not) and had little to do with the actual music on Vince.

The negative reviews basically. You guys will accept and embrace the good reviews but every bad review is bias to the man. :filenails:
