  1. It always frustrates me on a mainstream level that Janet has been pigeonholed to being a sex artist. People act like Janet was showing skin in RWU tour. The outfits were form fitting but we haven't seen the stomach in nearly 9 years. Let her evolve, please. Shes made every kinda sexual song there is, and although she COULD do it - it's not necessary. A themed project better serves who she is today. During UCAP I always said she looked like she was just doing the job at times - Unbreakable seemed more engaging in spirit on her.
  2. I guess we're discussing apples and oranges. You're just giving out the title no reference to accomplishment, no need for stability, just him being great at what he does. I respect that. I more so feel in current music we throw titles out without allowing the person to grow into it. It's very possible we haven't even seen Bruno peak, it's kinda jumping the ball - to me - to give it so freely. When I call or see someone as great even when they drop the ball it does not take away from their greatness. I like to let an artist develop. He's yet to create a landmark in the industry. Something that is legacy. He's very talented and refreshing but I think he still has time.
  3. Just give Bruno enough time. He's absolutely a great artist quickly throwing him to the top might overkill his ability to grow.
  4. Facts - Bruno is proving he can do and revive an old format. It's fire & modern for sure, but the next direction matters too. He has to continue to pivot. Usher has been here for 3 decades!!
  5. I can't give Bruno position over Usher because he's still very new and fresh. We have a tendency to elevate people so quickly they don't get the opportunity to basque in the moment. He's still defining himself. He has a ways to go but he's AMAZING today. So it's hard to jump on a bandwagon that's still being built. He's undoubtedly the shit & deserving of all the success. A massive talent but evolution matters. Also you said 20 years in an earlier part of the post so when I asked that I was referring only to the "only male singer out here worthy"
  6. There are there's just a different demographic for them. Right now Bruno has excellent crossover success and appeal. But there's definitely others they're just not as widely praised & accepted on this board.
  7. really? Only male singer? I mean not even Usher, Maxwell, Stevie Wonder...??? Only?
  8. She could rerelease it but it wouldn't be the best move. Like I said it looks like an exhausted effort. She could drop a video with Eissa & use a song but in all honesty an EP gives her more flexibility. Those who are not on social media will have missed out regardless. I've heard Dammn Baby a few times on the radio. A rerelease with a completely different branded tour? So again no attachment to the music. We'll see how it plays out. But Unbreakable is 2 years old...reviving - eh.
  9. No need to defend yourself against the cult. He's like a fan version of "Single White Female". I always envision him dressed in a Janet costume over there like -
  10. It was all over press she was releasing music for the first time in 7 years. She toured and put it in her bundle. She has it on her social media as the header. It was the name of her tour. Her return was anticipated with the tour - those who don't know, probably won't know. Not just because of promo but because Janet is now catering to a certain age group and crowd.
  11. I was watching that live feed and didn't hear him say that but I left early so I thought maybe he said it after.
  12. Another lesson in stop being a sensitive psychopath. Seriously, you should seek attention outside of forums. Hiatus - noun, plural hi·a·tus·es, hi·a·tus. a break or interruption in the continuity of a work, series, action, etc. a missing part; gap
  13. Ohhhh so basically even though she didn't think about working you think she worked & started doing shit like creating a marketing strategy for SOTW? Or developing music? Or whatever the strategy for IT will be? You see - your stupidity consistently reveals itself. I understand what you mean. It left a lot of ground uncovered. I think she really was trying to make mystique a thing but it didn't do so well. Unbreakable is an excellent album, but it just didn't have longevity in the commercial sense.
  14. I was never pressed about her doing promo. Go back and read any thread so fuck outta here. She didn't have to do videos & dance routines to promote the project. There was no risk to her pregnancy in developing a marketing strategy that allowed her to promote without having to be out & about. You quoted one part I said, "in different ways"
  15. There was a great conversation about "flops" & not having commercial success on this show I was listening to with this rapper. Basically the argument was in today's time it's not really a matter of "flopping" anymore. Because an artist can have a low performing cd but have high engagements with touring, bookings, & digital following. Back in the day everything was tied together - today they can be a huge hit in engagement but their actual albums not do numbers. For example, Remy Ma - just an example, never really sales much but she's still working heavily. Getting shows, major appearances, large following, endorsements etc. so flopping today is almost based on whether or not the artist CAN work & has relevance at all.
  16. Ultimately, trying to revive Unbreakable doesn't feel like the best move. It's almost two years old. I'm sure if she's renaming the tour she's taking the music in a diff marketing direction too. Unbreakable is over. No need to salvage that. Just drop an EP - short & simple. Interludes, a message, motherhood, maybe even align with a charitable effort & do your thing. If she was going to "push" Unbreakable she could have done it different ways while on hiatus.
  17. He mentioned Paula Abdul as a peer but insisted that J.Lo is some has been that with little relevance. So now, all conversations & debates are forever tabled lmao.
  18. She doesn't need to rerelease Unbreakable it would just look like a bad effort. An EP gives her room to not do a heavy role out but also just enough to make a point, get in & get out, plus new songs to perform. 5-8 tracks is plenty & maybe some interludes that give the EP depth - something that allows her to narrate the message or make it cohesive. Also, fans have dealt with inconsistency with touring but the whole "what fans have gone through" - EVERY thing that has happened effects Janet more than fans. This is her career & life. We don't have to support. That's a choice, there's no entitlement to supporting.
  19. I agree. She could do a simple EP nothing too hectic. I'd be ok with 5 songs but 8 would be epic. Just enough to get her point across & have some new material. I wonder the look she's going to go for & even though she has a song called State of the World I wonder if that would be the music project theme.
  20. There is no contradiction you empty fuck, my point is people like yourself police this board about facts yet you fall into the same thing. You search every post to act like some self imposed advocate - go away. Like I said, my points remain. I've acknowledged that everyone can think as they will & I'll do the same. Find something to do, go seek therapy.
  21. Stop stalking me on the boards Game. I told you the conversation was over - go find some friends.
  22. I was at that Atlanta show & nothing about that moment felt or seemed tacky to me. It was raining she apologized for the elements & just told the crowd this was different for us because we didn't get to bring/use all of our staging. That's an authentic moment MOST people gravitate to realness and authenticity. Her saying, when we come back we're going to have EVERY thing means - if you enjoyed this show when we come back you will love it even more. Indirectly, & maybe even unintentionally she's selling her next performance in town. Even though it didn't materialize. I know most of us agree she needs better creative direction & assistance. He's (Gil) a great person and loyal friend but creatively she can grow.
