His #1 contribution, imo, is the fact that he conceptualized the studio album for Black artists, and artists in general. MJ hasn't really influenced the industry in terms of music as much as Stevie has. More of his influence relies on being a consummate pop star, while Stevie's is about being a musical innovator.
