Ok let me go with the first one that came to mind, Lauren Hill's album, although a great album, she has not been back since on any significant level, Cher, she enjoyed a cute one single comeback after that nothing. Am i wrong?

Im viewing these polls by their impact and how much they did during and how they held up after, most of these were good albums, some a few good singles, BUT overall a lot of these were not game changers, Michael's Thriller, game changer, Madonna's ROL, game changer, these other folks not so much. Most would consider "TMOLH" a game changer. It won 5 grammy's, became the most successful album by a female rap artist and is considered one of the greatest albums of all time. Plus I think it was the first hip hop album to win album of the year. It was a factor.

Brandy is severely underrated, she does not look like Beyonce sure, but she has one hell of a catalog and I think we voted on who had the better one, Beyonce lost clearly.

Bailey ..Lauryn did some unprecedented shit with the success of Miseducation esp for a female "hip hop" artist. She even snatched Madonna's wig during that time. It was beyond just being Lauryn's year. She made a MARK in a time thats still remembered becuz she WAS the face of pop culture at that moment.

The album sold very well though. It did like 5 million here in the US alone. From 1995 through 2002 she was quite a factor.

For example, Garbage fizzled not long after Version 2.0, but the disc sold millions worldwide without significant hit singles and was also a nominee for Album Of The Year at the Grammys. That, to me, is a pretty important factor. I could make a case for every album if I had to.

Also, an album like Keep The Faith I chose because of where we are. Obviously something like Massive Attack's Mezzanine holds more weight, but it doesn't make sense to crowd the polls with titles the majority of folks here wouldn't care about. And that's not me being a snob, it's just the way it goes.
