Brandy stans live in delusion.

And I used to be a Brandy stan. I still own every Brandy album. I just never thought the bitch was God's gift to R&B. She's not a live performer. She's an alright actress. She hasn't been that much of a vocalist until recently -- and she still can't compete with half of the R&B divas of her day such as Toni Braxton. Her only outstanding albums were Afrodisiac and Never Say Never, one which is dated and the other hasn't been heard by more than 50 people. She had no impact on the music industry. She hasn't paved the way for anybody other than JoJo and Tiffany Evans. The only thing that Brandy has was being an 'it girl' for the 90's, one album, a voice and Moesha re-runs. :coffee:

Are some of you voting based on the artist instead of the album? That's not the object of these polls. For example, Garbage fizzled not long after Version 2.0, but the disc sold millions worldwide without significant hit singles and was also a nominee for Album Of The Year at the Grammys. That, to me, is a pretty important factor. I could make a case for every album if I had to.

I agree with you about Garbage. Version 2.0 is considered a classic in many circles. But Keep the Faith is/was one of Faiths weakest albums. Her followup album "Faithfully" is her best work and an r&b classic on the low.

Also, an album like Keep The Faith I chose because of where we are. Obviously something like Massive Attack's Mezzanine holds more weight, but it doesn't make sense to crowd the polls with titles the majority of folks here wouldn't care about. And that's not me being a snob, it's just the way it goes.

Not all of these albums have to be game changers. Go back to the first poll to check my methodology.

so what is it you expect to come out from these polls? One Im having a hard time picking just one album over a single year where many albums slayed and those were in your polls. I didn't vote for Biggie in any of them but to me that would seem like he didn't matter and he did.

Why would I be pressed when I was one of the only ones that bought Human gal? :filenails:

You have ALL her albums, but you claim she wasn't even a decent artist as compared to her 90s peers. Clearly she has some redeeming quality considering you were supporting her as late as 2008. That makes no sense.

Because I support R&B. I buy plenty of albums. I supported Brandy because she was a young African American girl with a hit television show. It wasn't like I bought her album expecting to hear Songs In The Key Of Life.

I remember KTF being received quite well. Again it's relative to where we are.

I can't say that I expect anything in particular. You're supposed to have a hard time picking just one. In no way does it mean you don't like other albums on the poll.
