It's how I was raised too. That guilt and shame is part of why I have such an issue with religion. You shouldn't be raised to be shamed. That's very unfortunate. I was in college (higher education, so I was 16) and a bunch of us went out on the train to visit this village that is supposedly the most haunted village in Kent. This guy John came with us, he was older than me and basically he wanted to see how far he could get with me so he took me into the train toilet and kissed me (and other stuff). It wasn't romantic, he was a heavy smoker so it didn't taste nice either. And on top of that I wouldn't sleep with him so he stopped talking to me. NOT a great first experience.
