I think that movie ruined Flex's acting career, he started getting bit acting gigs after that. When that ran it's course he and is wife tried their stint at reality. Now he is a talking head on unsung.
I don't blame him either. There a a lot of cases that men get accused of sexual assault out of situations like that. And I didn't even seem that violent.
I think that campaign caused the demise of the Xone that's what I was talking about.
I'll agree with this. Janet made the mistake of committing to the "say as little to nothing as possible and hopefully people will move on," approach when it clearly wasn't working. I understand that she didn't want to live through it, but that was probably better than that approach and I think people would have respected her more and shook off the backlash. Being passive probably made her as much of a sitting duck as JT's actions and lack thereof.
That Blackgama was pretty divisive, but whatever.
IDK, if she can comeback and have a relatively successful project or the RnR HOF recognizes her, there might be some closure. But for now, the closure is not there.
But how exactly is it still trucking on though? She hasn't really done anything public since 2011. Also, don't believe for a second that she would get any accolades for it. I don't see the point of having any pride in it. But that's just individual priorities.
But as long as your favorite has his career, what does it matter to you...
To be fair, we do have to let it go. Bitching it about won't change a thing. But it is a pin to the neck to be reminded of what happened and how badly it hurt Janet. If I don't have to hear about it again, I would be grateful. That' why I don't like when fans act like it's something to be proud of. I would trade the media phenomena it created for Janet being able to continue to strengthen her legacy.
That's the thing, the way JT fans here wants to bring that mentality on this board is really patronizing. They ignore that this board is devoted to Janet, who went through hell and back to see her fall off face of the earth. If you continue to like JT's music fine, but not all of us do (or ever did) and his actions during that time affected some of our respect towards him. It's really naive this think that there wouldn't be any animosity towards him here.
Yeah I don't understanding the deflecting.
JT fans should be honest and say they are relieved that Justin dodged a bullet even if it meant having Janet take it for him. They rather not relive it because according to the general public, JT was virtually not there, therefore no risk of being called out for his involvement.
Janet fans for the most part will have to relive it because now we look out of our minds wondering if she is considering releasing any music while she has disappeared of the face of the earth.
To be fair, mainstream award shows are more hesitant to recognize post-disco era R&B stars. I think R. Kelly had recognition from Soul Train and that's where I think Usher will receive a lifetime achievement.
Girl groups in general have had really spotty times of popularity. They have only been popular in the 60s and 90s. What hurts them from reaching their potential is that they generally have very little control over their careers.
I don't see the problem either way. Most artists rehash their tour for a special performance. It's a nice summary for someone unable to attend her concert
I saw that kiss when it first aired, I was like "Oh a lesbo kiss. So Madonna "
It just wasn't particularly shocked to me considering who was involved...
I can live off of $170 million for the rest of my life too. But I really don't really want for that much. But Floyd likes to spend extremely lavishly, and that is fine for the income stream he has at this moment, but it is to be determined what happens when he retires and his income slows significantly.
But back to the topic. It is a bit distasteful to find joy in someone illiteracy. Unfortunately he did not have to support and that was not of his choosing.
Yeah, but he's still boxing and winning. He can't box forever... and you can't collect royalties.
Hell look at the the boxers that were in his position. Tyson made the same amount and had to file for bankruptcy....
Perhaps Mayweather is ahead of the curve when it comes to his finances and the future of them after he retires. That's a wait and see. Just don't think because you have the talent that makes a lot of money, doesn't mean you are set for life, especially if your talents is perishable (especially athletic ability).
