Round 6: TLC Vs. Aaliyah

I really liked Andy's idea of TLC Vs. Aaliyah. I like the thought of them facing off against Destiny's Child, too, but it's a little expected.

My vote switches up slightly this round. I'm giving my album pick to Aaliyah, and the other two categories to TLC.

Aaliyah made some good songs, but she was never much of a force in the industry until the release of Aaliyah album. Then she died which is what made a lot of people take notice. TLC had some anthems like Waterfalls and No Scrubs which were huge worldwide.

I HATE that I have to even choose, but I must go with TLC, ONLY because tho Aaliyah's discography is great, and she was as a vocalists, Chili brought a similar sound to Aaliyah's voice (tho I like Aaliyah more than her), but also came with T-Boz (who I adore) and Lisa who slayed as well. It'd be easier if it werent 1 artist verses a group (of unique individuals).

It is a funny comparison in that they both are only hated and disrespected/discredited from Bey stans lol

Seriously - how anyone can honestly say that Aaliyah made better music over her whole career than TLC is beyond me.

Another thing they have in common is that both their careers were tragically cut so short (since Left Eye also passed, and TLC depended on all 3 members).

Both very consistent discographies but I'll give Aaliyah the albums (While I love 3D it kinda brings down the average) And singles and overall to TLC.

Oh and another similarity, each of their red albums happened to be two of my all-time favorites.

I choose Aaliyah because I prefer her music. As I said in a previous thread I'm not that familiar with TLC aside from singles, 3D and the songs you recommended in the previous thread.

Surely that death thing would apply to TLC too?
